The details of the raid on Osama bin Laden's compound have changed a bit from last night to this morning to this afternoon. Contradicting yesterday's reports from Deputy National Security Advisor John Brennan, White House spokesman Jay Carney said today that Bin Laden was not armed when U.S. commandos raided his compound. He also said that it was "unclear" whether anybody had used a woman as a human shield, as Bin Laden was originally reported to have done.
At a briefing for television reporters on Monday night, one official told Politico's John Gerstein that, "a different guy's wife was killed," but nobody had been used as a human shield. Carney today said one woman had been killed in the crossfire as troops stormed the building that held Bin Laden. "The U.S. team found bin Laden in a room with one of his wives on one of the upper floors, Carney said. Bin Laden's wife rushed the U.S. commandos, and was shot in leg but not killed, he said. Bin Laden resisted and was shot and killed, Carney said." He didn't describe how Bin Laden had resisted, but said, "I think resistance does not require a firearm." Brennan had previously suggested Bin Laden had participated in a firefight.

Barack Obama kept military commanders hanging by declaring he would 'sleep on it' before taking 16 hours to give the go-ahead to raid Bin Laden's compound.
I guess this means we have one of his wives in custody. Earlier it was reported it was his youngest wife. I hope she is older than old Mo’s youngest wife.
Has the list of captured people been released yet?

This is what happens when you get a bunch of amateurs watching grainy direct-feed video while sitting in a situation room 8000 miles away. Confusion over who is doing what, which person in the video is whom, and leaks from the popcorn-munching spectators that are inconsistent.
Using EST, If the helicopters arrived at 4pm and the firefight lasted 40 minutes, its safe to say the body was probably not photographed, bagged, and in the air until 5pm at the earliest.
8 hours later its on a ship in the North Arabian Sea getting prepped to be dumped overboard?
During those 8 hours, according to the media, the body is flown by helicopter Northwest into Afghanistan some 200+ miles, it lands, they take out the body. They do DNA testing and facial recognition. They rebag the body, load it back into another helicopter, and fly 1000 miles to a US ship in the North Arabian Sea. All in 8 hours?
Not saying he is alive or anything like that. Just questioning the timeline. Why the rush?
It will drive me crazy because Obama's group either purposely changes the story for some purpose, or they simply can't get themselves organized. I don't know which is worse.
Was it 2 copters, or 4? Was it 20 men or 40? Was bin Laden armed, or wasn't he? Was his wife killed or not? Did the copter crash or was it mechanical problems? Was UBL's DNA tested? If so, why was the body dumped a mere 12 hours later? Are there labs in Af-Pak who can test DNA in 12 hours? Why debate publishing photos after the fact? Wouldn't something like that be decided well in advance?
I suppose that the administration will want an investigation to see if Osama's rights were violated.
Killing an unarmed suspect is serious.
But the media will dutifully publish whatever version of propaganda the White House is feeding them today.
OBL is dead. Yes. Hurrah.
But this same press corp REFUSED to print any good news coming from the Pentagon regarding Iraq saying "we won't sit idlely by and print your propaganda" (paraphrased from a Washington Post reporter).
They should be AMERICANS first, not Democrat syncophants and they should realize that their flip flopping on 88 points of fact (or whatever the number is) within 36 hours starts to breed skepticism over other details.
The media has fabricated news before (photoshopped images, redacted quotes, made up witnesses, etc.). If the public is skeptical, it is because journalists are a disgrace to their profession today.
Where are the “captured” being held? Are they going to end up in Gitmo? That is one luxurious place from what I have read.
I say, patch them up and drop them over the border of Paaakistaaan, if we took them out of country.
We don’t need to be feeding and housing a bunch of wives who don’t know anything of value to us.
Important, in this case historic, breaking news often has change in reported details. It will take a while to get a consistent story and then the conspiracists can go to town.

Forget about releasing one photo. Release the entire video.

The facial recognition photos and DNA samples were taken by the SEALS, the photos were sent immediately back to CIA just moments after they killed him...
All you need is a small amount of tissue and blood for DNA, there was a good bit of that all over the place after the firefight I’m sure...
