With all the renewed talk about waterboarding I thought it would be a good thing to open a thread where folks who have been waterboarded can sign and leave their comments for posterity.
The rest of the Freepers can thank us for our service and sacrifice in perfecting this effective non-torture technique.
And, there is not one person who has administered a session that has not themselves been "on the board".
I went to SERE school in 1968. At the time, we were deprived of food, put in small boxes, sent on 7 mile marches, run thru a simulated enemy zone and put thru an enemy camp with interrogation, “open handed” smackdowns (which hurt pretty darn good) but that was all pre-waterboarding.
When they had us do an about face at 3 AM or so and started playing the Star Spangled Banner, I’m sure mine was not the only face with tears.
Over the years, I always think back to that time when confronted with a nasty situation, always figuring “I handled SERE, I can handle this.”
Thanks for checking in and telling it.
Y’all really make me feel old.

SERE? Waterboarding?
Worst punishment I got was having to admit that I was in at the same time as j f’ing kerry.
My hubby was waterboarded as part of his survival training too. He has had NO problems from it at all.
