NASHUA, N.H. — Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney
says President Barack Obama deserves credit for authorizing
the military operation that resulted in Osama bin Laden’s death.

Before starting a round-table discussion with New Hampshire
business owners today, Romney thanked Obama,
U.S. military forces and the intelligence community
for finding and killing the mastermind
behind the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

I am pretty sure that most Republican national leaders don’t mind losing in 2012 at all. Losing is one of the things they do best.

I don’t necessarily have a problem with giving Obama some credit.

I agree. I think that Romney should have said something like this:

I thank President Obama for continuing to execute the plan that President Bush had formulated to eliminate this threat to national security. The real credit goes to the members of Navy Seal Team VI who put their lives on the line to complete this mission.

While would love to add a snarky line about the Seal Team being willing to risk more than nine holes of golf, I would resist.

I'm no fan of Mitt, but he's playing to a dumbed-down audience with an inflated sense of their own importance.

New Hampshire imagines themselves as far more important than they really are.

They not only allow RINOs, but independents to vote in their pissant primary.

I have more respect for candidates who simply ignore New Hampshire and Iowa and take their campaigns to a real state like South Carolina. Like Herman Cain.
