In the wake of the U.S.-led operation that killed Osama bin Laden, billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to Pakistan are in jeopardy as relations between the two countries turn sour.
Pakistan is coming under fire for not being able to spot bin Laden, who, instead of hiding in the remote caves of the northwest tribal areas as originally thought, was in fact living in an affluent neighborhood in Abbottabad, right near the Pakistani military academy.
U.S. administration officials say they didn't inform their Pakistani counterparts of the operation to hunt down and kill bin Laden until it was all but over, for fear that the information could be leaked into the wrong hands.
Now, a growing chorus of lawmakers on Capitol Hill are calling for the administration to reassess the billions in aid it provides to Pakistan, given how unhelpful they say the Pakistani government was.
From 2002 to 2010, the United States gave $13.3 billion in security-related aid to Pakistan, and $6 billion for economic assistance. More than $3 billion were requested for 2011.

That support is how we eventually got him. We have moles, too. And we were the ones who set up the Paki security system.
They are playing us for fools and if our politicians insist on giving them money then make them earn it but in the mean time, cut it off.
Give the money to Alabama....
To put this into perspective, the CIA factbook on Pakistan has its entire GDP being $175B, and its military budget being 3% of that, or about $5B. So US aid is what keeps the Pakistani officer-class able to afford their mistresses. Take away that aid, and they are screwed.
I would not be surprised if the ISI were behind 9/11, for the express purpose of restarting the cash flow that stopped when the Russians left Afghanistan and we lost interest in the region.
Traitors to the American people in the US Congress
KNEW where Osama was. KNEW.
They still seem to have money to buy billions in weaponry-frigates, warplanes and soon submarines from the Chicoms. It’s not like they will starve without US aid.
The third guy on the recently published Reuters photos of the inside of the campound (photos leaked by a Pakistani official) is definitely the dead body of Khaled Bin Laden, Osamas son, that being the first visual and undeniable proof that the Bin Laden family was at that campound that night.

It is not unreasonable for the American people to question if Osama bin Laden was located on government controlled land, next to a military academy, and so close to the nation's Capital. What real assistance was the Pakistan Government providing for the last 10 years to locate the al-Qaeda leader and bring him to justice?
[snip]
I think it is quite clear that unless we get a clear explanation of what the Government of Pakistan knew about the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden, all foreign aid from American taxpayers to this nation needs to cease. We need to understand whether the Government of Pakistan was harboring Osama bin Laden for all these years. Further, did the Government of Pakistan always know where this terrorist was but instead did not want to bring him to justice in order to continue to receive foreign aid from the United States of America.
It is quite disturbing that this revelation comes on the heels of Pakistan's President admonishing Hamid Karzai to not support long term security agreement with the United States. I served in Afghanistan for 2 1/2 years and familiar with the sanctuary being provided to Islamic terrorists in Pakistan. Many believe the central headquarters of the Taliban, and Mullah Omar, are located in Quetta, Pakistan.
Feinstein: it would be "premature" to cut off aid
McCain: warned that the situation with Pakistan is "complicated"
Lugar: financial aid to Pakistan should be continued. We need this relationship ... adding that aid should be provided "with the proper oversight"
Boehner: defended U.S. aid to Pakistan and warned that it was premature to discuss cutting off funding, saying the United States should have an "eyeball to eyeball conversation about where this relationship is going."
"I think we need more engagement, not less, Having a robust partnership with Pakistan is critical to breaking the back of al Qaeda and the rest of them."
Poe: has drafted a bill that would require, for all funding going to Pakistan, that the State Department certify that Pakistan was not providing sanctuary to bin Laden.
It’s just another point of view, but consider that foreign aid did buy bin Landen’s death.
It is naive to think that Pakistani officials did not know of bin Laden’s whereabouts. If you noticed, the foreign aid kept increasing for the last few ears.
Initially, bin Landen’s money was worth the trouble of having him in their country. But, after a cost/benefit analysis it was no longer worth protecting him. The Paks gave him up and are willing to be portrayed as ignorant and uninformed.
Small price to pay to get rid of those pesky drone attacks on the western frontier and continue to get foreign aid.
And that “American money” is actually borrowed Chinese money.
I think it’s high time the American people stop worrying about the liberal revisionist history with regard to the confederate south because after seeing these numbers it’s abundantly clear that we’re all slaves now.
So...we borrow money from the Chinese to give to the Pakis who turn around and buy Chinese arms...
You got it!
