The law had a 65-52-1 vote on Thursday, but due to Home Rule this is about the only thing home rule seems to affect. It needed 60% supermajority to pass with 71 House votes, Governor Quinnochio just repealed the Death Penalty he campaigned support for last fall and this week he comes out against Concealed carry and he Daley, and Emmanuel twisted and bought off enough votes to stop it, the Chicago way.

FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
I dunno about this. Since I live in AZ, I sort of like it when a whole state proudly proclaims itself to be an excellent magnet for criminals. It draws them out of my region. And Ill. gave us Obama, so I am inclined to vote no on a poll like this just to keep the good times rolling.
Does Illinois need a law that allows the public in some instances to carry concealed firearms?
Thank you for your vote.
Yes, Americans need permission from the government to legally carry a concealed and effective means to protect one’s self and others.
No, Americans already have the right to carry a concealed firearm Constitutionally and don’t need a permission slip from the government in order to do so. Liberalize the gun laws to be in accordance with the Constitution so all law-abiding citizens can protect themselves pretty much everywhere and anywhere without having to break the law.
Voted and btt.

1st District Rep Suzanna Mendoza switched from Yes to No early in the vote.

No, Illinos doesn’t need that law. Because of the 2nd Amendment, all law-abiding Americans already know that they can carry guns, to defend themselves.
Hello Phil:
Concur. However, get caught up in a situation where you’re Terry frisked by an Illinois LEO while in concealed carry mode; if you’re without a badge, you’re toast. Even an overt carry situation makes an ordinary citizen’s life extraordinarily difficult upstate. Needless to say, been there, suffered through both; all while serving as one of Uncle’s LEOs.
Worst off, the sad state of Illinois jurors and justices north of I80; all with little understanding for the concept how the US Constitution actually limits government powers.
Already moved our business out of state, no thanks to the Illinois anti-business environment. Color me gone when the C(r)ook County property is sold.
Cheers,
OLA
