I live in NY. I don’t have numbers but weren’t these families given a lot already? Why not take the 50mm and give it to the families of all who died trying to catch Osama?

If I remember correctly, they have been compensated, the money should be given to the survivors of servicemen killed in the war against terrorism.

I say give it to who it is owed to. There was a contract, we should pay up. This crap pisses me off. Sure, I would like to see the families get money and the troops get money, but we gave our word. If our word means nothing, fine, we can let it go at that.

In Obama’s treatment of the GM and Chrysler shareholders, we have already seen that legal contracts are dead. Who on earth would take a chance investing their own money now?

I think this tendency is as dangerous as anything going on in government today.

Don't want to sound callus, but aren't the survivors family's for the most part already set for life after the Suits/GuvMint buyouts?

I'm good with legitimate related Medical Bills for First Responders, but I thought that was already taken care of as well?

Sounds kind of like Vote buying by the despicable Weiner Dog

I tend to agree. I personally feel that the SEALS should get a nice “check” as well. I realize they don’t do what they do for profit but sometimes appreciation can be shown with some money thrown their way. IMHO

This was a reward, not a slush fund. Our intelligence people did all the work and the military finished the job. This was strictly to shake info out of locals over there. As far as any report is concerned, non came forward. There is no way this should go to the families. Those families got huge sums of money after 911 anyway.

The whole reason we took out the bounty was to encourage bounty hunters.

If offer bounties but don’t give it to the people who did the footwork and brought the bounty in, it defeats the purpose of offering the reward.

That said:

It’s also a breach of contract - you’d think a bunch of lawyers would already know this, but we’re dealing with libs.

I don't think anyone earned the reward. It was intended for someone with information to come forward, but nobody did. The military had to coerce it out of a detainee, and the SEALS were sent on a mission to serve their country.

I say the reward is null and void.

There is no $50 million. It doesnt exist. Goverent would have to borrow it. We and our children have to pay it back.

Yeah. Tony the Weiner and Jabba the Nadler can each contribute 25 million of their own money! Works for me! I’m sick of commie politicians always wanting to spend OTHER PEOPLE’S ****ING MONEY SO THEY CAN GET REELECTED!!!!

I think the money should go to the military MWR funds. Some to each service, they all contributed.

Waddler and Weiner are typical rats. Footloose and fancy free with their plans of how to spend the taxpayers money.

I don’t think Obama wants the CIA Gitmo interrogators to get the 50 million.

50 million to spread among 300+ million? After all, aren’t we all 9/11 survivors?

Nonsense! These families already got a lot, far more than the families of the Oklahoma City attack.

I vote that the reward money should go to reducing our national debt even though it is just a drop in the bucket.
