Tis the Beltway Virus. They all get it after a few of the cocktails in DC
Well, if this is true, he’s out as far as I am concerned.
There usually is a ‘rest of the story’ moment. For example, if West wants to submit a competing proposal, he can’t do that if he votes for it. One of those weird house rules. I don’t know if this is the case, but hold off knee jerking until we see the big picture.
Don’t get it at all. Weird comments by his press woman.
I remember a lot of FReeper comments a couple of months ago saying a piecemeal dismantling of Obamacare was a mistake.
So West's position here is not automatically an anti-conservative position. I don't know if I agree with it, but maybe we could drop the knee-jerk reactions and debate our opinions of its merits or lack thereof?
Sounds like West wants repeal and the GOP doesn’t. Can you hear the RINOS falling?
It’s not a good sign.
In one way, the vote is meaningless, because it won’t pass the Senate anyway.
But in another way, it shows a regretable weakness and a willingness to vote against the party—in a liberal direction.
Not good at all. I’ve said before, I wouldn’t support West for President, because he has no record. He is a freshman politician, with zero experience. I might support him as a VP, but not if he’s going to pull tricks like this.
Not good at all.
Just got done listening to Juan Williams praising our speaker for putting us filthy tea partiers in our place.
However, Williams did unknowingly expose a truth. We aren’t pressuring our congressmen the way we should. We need to get back out in the streets and to our townhall meetings and flog our congresscritters into line.
The problem with conservatives is that they don’t stand behind the people they elect. The Democrats, on the other hand, are fanatical. They will support the biggest dummies of their party.
I’d suggest you check out Allen West’s website and read for yourself. I think you may find that his point is they are focusing on a dead horse when there are more important issues that needs their attention at the moment. I like and trust Allen West. I’m sure he had his reasons, which is not being spelled out in the article. He is a conservative not GOP.
Wow, West betrayed is in record time.
GTH, West...
Pick at the monstrosity like a gnat and keep the majority of the socialist fascist thing in the long run, yea...we know the plan jokers.
The sooner this is understood by conservatives, the better.
Since a total repeal was voted down by the Senate, what recourse other than a chipping away, piecemeal, is possible? The logic of West’s spokesperson is not clear to me.
In terms of the Nation's future, it is the single most important issue facing the congress critters...
This guy is a clueless dimwit...
Folks - this is a disagreement on tactics and an interesting topic to discuss. West is saying that it is a waste of time to keep sending legislation to the Senate that we know in advance will die there.
I disagree. But I do agree that this needs more thought on tactics to improve chance of success. But even if we know it will die we should still keep sending the bills over til hell freezes over.
One thing at a time is better than nothing at all. If the more feasible way to dismantle CommieCare is by going after one thing at a time, so be it. It’s better than waiting for a magic Conservative unicorn to make everything better all at once.
In 2006 the Congress and the Senate voted on a bill to build 700 miles of Border fence... it is law... Bush signed it. Ever wonder why not one foot of fence has been built... NO FUNDING!

WASHINGTON President Bush this morning signed into law a bill authorizing the federal government to install fencing, cameras, motion sensors and other types of barriers to stem illegal immigration along 700 miles of the U.S.-Mexican border.
“This bill will help protect the American people. This bill will help make our borders more secure,” Bush said before signing the legislation.”
