I've asked the same question. Why not keep him alive and water board him until he sings like a canary? If his computers were a wealth of information, wouldn't he be as well? I'm glad he is dead but I believe we missed an opportunity.

I would have been happy with a ‘dead’ photo of obl immediately following the kill. Now the entire telling of the operation has become a fiasco.

I'm fine with bin laden being dead, I just think we could have gotten information from him before we killed him. And if not, we could have made his life a living hell. For someone who has caused so much pain and suffering, a shot to the head was too quick and too painless.

Well the way I see it is we got the official version and then we have the real version. I mean do people actually think they brought him on a ship and kissed his arse by giving him ye olde traditional Islamic burial by carefully washing his body, then carefully wrapping it in a shawl? Hell no, it wouldn’t suprise me in the least if they pssed and crapped down his mouth and stuck a Kiran up his arse which I hope to hell they did, or that they even kept him alive and are right now having him read aloud every last one of the 911 victims over and over. On the other hand he may have very well have been killed and had his butt kissed considering who we have as POTUS.

second...I agree his death would have weakened morale. But we could have interrogate him first (water boarding, etc) and then make him room temperature.

The harsh reality is, the same man who told us OBL was dead was the same man who told us his birth certificate was real just one week earlier. That considered, why should we believe a word of it?

I imagine the anti-American communist in our White House ordered that OBL be given an appropriate funeral and buried at sea. I like to hope that the real Americans in our military heard the orders of our alleged "Commander-in-Chief" and gave that mass murderer an appropriate funeral for the embodiment of evil before dumping the bacon-covered body overboard. So long as BHO is fulfilling the role of CIC, his orders must be followed, but I see no reason to understand his orders as he intended.

Problem is if he was captured alive, Obama would have read him his miranda rights before they left Pakistan, given him a lawyer, housed him in some upper class white collar federal prison and wanted him to have his trial in a federal court. He’d have been given top quality medical care, food of his choice and just about abything else he would have wanted.

the length of the interrogation isn’t the issue ... wether 5 minutes or five months its the info that’s gained not the amount of time it took to get it....I agree the POTUS doesn’t have the stomach for it....but I bet the navy seals on scene did
it’s possible that even under a real interrogation he may not have given up any more information than what was gained after raiding his computers, thumb drives etc...
I am no supporter of our current POTUS and honestly neither you or I have the clearance to know how his death was really handled..as much as we desire justice and vengeance for those murdered on 9/11 the mission of the seals wasn’t one of vengeance but of national security... it is possible that the best way to accomplish that goal was a quick death and disposal of the body.
the harsh reality is that with an undercover operation there is no way an average citizen will ever have enough knowledge of what went down to be able to give any kind of meaningful analysis and we can decide to believe it or not
