In the wake of the takedown of Osama bin Laden, it's time to take things to the next level -- finishing the job abroad while restoring some sanity to security here at home.
Since 9/11, Americans have regarded al Qaeda with fear and loathing, as if the terrorists are all 10 feet tall. But the newly released photographs and videos of bin Laden show an old man living in squalor that would disgrace your average college student, working the remote control amidst a jumble of wires as he watched video coverage of himself.
The fact is, we have been lucky in our enemies. Since 9/11, most of the plots have been amateurish or inept, severely hampered by the Middle Easterners' technological incapability. "Do you have any idea how hard it is to find Arabs who are any good at this work?" the Saudi terrorist Abu Zubayda, captured in Pakistan in 2002, is said to have asked his US interrogators.
Which isn't to say that they're not still dangerous. The cowardly Maj. Nidal Hasan killed 13 unarmed men and women at Fort Hood in 2009. The "playbook" recovered by the SEALs from bin Laden's "mansion" indicates that the war he declared against America in 1996 very much continues, with bruited attacks on the rail system and the water supply.

The author does not go far enough. It's time to roll back the Patriot Act. There's nothing patriotic about eliminating constitutional rights. It's allowing the militarized, union-controlled police forces to trample and abuse the American public.
TSA is bad, Patriot Act is worse.
Summary: In its original incarnation, it was called "Cultural Marxism".
The more I think about those images of him, his wires, his videos and his nasty furnishings, the more I think 0bama only bagged Osama has-been Laden because the Abbottabad code officer was fed up with issuing citations for odor, and decided it was time to let Uncle Sugar take out the trash.
The flaming underwear guy didn’t sound like the sharpest knife either. And I don’t mean that in the humorous way.

Do you have any idea how easy it is to stock America's bureaucracy who are supposed to protect us with political hacks ranging from the genuinely incompetent to actual allies of the enemy?
LOL! Can you imagine such an officer in Pakistan?
You are correct.
It used to be British, and nothing lasts like Brit bureaucracy!
I have a friend who worked with an alphabet agency out East who told me in early 2002 concerning the terrorists “God blessed us, these guys aren’t that bright”. He was convinced that the 9/11 hi-jackings were just an audacious act that happened to work and it wasn’t due to a lot of sophisticated timing or advanced protocols.
We need to end the Patriot Act and dismantle the Department of Homeland Security.
I thought this thread was going to be about disabling your company’s Barracuda firewalls...
"Do you have any idea how hard it is to find Arabs who are any good at this work?" the Saudi terrorist Abu Zubayda...
On the lighter brighter side, our liberal elite Universities are doing everything they can to 'educate' Arab youths in these fields...
But liberals are saying public university education is our seed-corn for our next crop. We cant eat that seed-corn can we??.
I guess when we are in our 80s and 90s the next generation of American haters will take care of us in the nursing homes, and pay their own salaries with their FICA and medicare taxes. It makes perfect sense.
“Do you have any idea how hard it is to find Arabs who are any good at this work?”
Hmmmmm....I realize it was several decades in the past but I seem to recall quite a few “Abdullah’s” hanging out in the university physics lab.
Maybe they just aren’t self-starters, though Maj. Hasan “worked” pretty effectively by himself.
I’m still asking...what in hell did OBL pay thousands of dollars for his slave-wives for? Just to keep piling up the trash and bring him his Viagra pills?
Maybe that explains my lack of marital success but gooool-ly! Why get married with not just one but THREE stay-at-home, paid-for ives in order to live in a filthy hovel?
If that hole is a mansion, I’m glad I live in a doghouse.
