Gay donors fuel Obama's 2012 campaign
Politico ^ | 5/9/2011 | BEN SMITH & MAGGIE HABERMAN

President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign is banking on gay donors to make up the cash it’s losing from other groups of wealthy supporters who have been alienated and disappointed by elements of Obama’s first term.

Pleased by an all-out White House push to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” gay donors have surprised campaign officials with the extent of their support. And the campaign’s new fundraising apparatus appears designed to capitalize on their enthusiasm: Obama’s finance committee included one gay man in 2008; there are 15 this year, a source said.

The Obama campaign finance director, Rufus Gifford, was a top California gay fundraiser; the DNC finance chairman, Andrew Tobias, is gay; and the White House social secretary – traditionally a key, if unofficial, fundraising job – is also a gay man, Jeremy Bernard.

The spur for the gay community becoming an anchor for Obama’s re-election fundraising is a series of policy shifts in 2010. After a year of rocky relations and suspicion from Obama’s gay supporters that he wasn’t really committed to their issues, the last year saw a surge in activity. Along with the high-profile repeal of the military ban, Obama’s Justice Department recently refused to defend the Defense of Marriage Act. And the administration has taken smaller steps, like gay partner hospital visits and hate crimes legislation, concrete and important gestures that simply weren’t made during the Bush administration.

Gee, I wonder if employment amongst homosexuals is the same as that of the general population.

He delivered DADT to them, a major victory for the homo agenda. Shows how much trouble RINOs can cause.

Now it is official: the Dems are the party of sodomites. Too bad people odn’t realize that the Third Reich was a Regime led by sodomites from the beginning.

I suppose now we will see the RNC running after sodomite donors shrieking “What do you want?”, “Give us money!”. “What do you want?”, “Give us money!”

He'll somehow manage to piss off this demographic group as well.

What's interesting to me is just how he's going to get a gay or lesbian agenda converted into preferential tax code legislation? I'm looking for a same sex partner tax credit soon. Transexual operations, and counseling will become tax credits as well.

1) There are not enough of them.

2) They would all have to be millionaires to make up the 1 billion dollars that obama has promised to raise. soros and company has cut him off.

I guess the homo’s still don’t understand that under sharia law, they’ll be the first ones stoned to death. Why would they support a muzzie? The same way so many catholics support the pro-abortion party. The same way so many “jews” support the pro-palestinian party.

No worries. There’s not a lot of them..less than 3% of the population. Their numbers are ‘dwindling” anyways (cough)

perhaps we need an “out list” for all the hollyweird types that are supporting obama.

kill the actor’s or actresses’ career and then they cease to be a factor. no job = no money = nobama.

As far as I am concerned I lost my interest in all but a few Hollywood films long ago. The majority of them weren’t worth my time. But the sad part is, most of this is just what I do, and just my opinion.

not all Catholcis, 52 or something % --> but way too many (even 1% is too many)

However, 45% of Protestants voted for Obama, and they are how much, 60% of the population? While Catholics are 24%

So, the numbers of Protestants voting for Democrats outnumbers the numbers of Catholics who do, right?

Even Jews vote 74% for O

And most blacks are pentecostal or baptist and oh, didn't 95%+ vote for Obama?

no, the problem is to be solved in the next election by showing the GOP as a party for all

The reason is apparent in the way the non-Catholics here on FR treat Catholics as being somehow not American -- this gives the Catholics little option if the wrong perception is given that the GOP is somehow anti-Catholic (which it isn't)

hence the right way is to battle that perception and show that the GOP is a party for all.
