Crew members and passengers wrestled a 28-year-old man to the cabin floor after he began pounding on the cockpit of a plane approaching San Francisco. The man was yelling as he brushed past a flight attendant about 10 minutes before American Airlines Flight 1561 from Chicago was due to land on Sunday night, police said. Rageit Almurisi, 28, carried a Yemen passport but his nationality is not clear, a spokesman said. [Snip] Passengers told of how Almurisi was heard to shout 'Allahu Akbar'--or 'God is great'. Passenger Angelina Marty said: 'I kept saying to myself,

I'll add this as well.

If you find these jihadists trying to take over an aircraft, you had better fight for your life.

It's not 'Take us to Cuba' anymore. They will use the aircraft as a cruise missile. We know now.

Allahu Akbar should come to be understood as “ You are advised to immediately kill me on the spot as I am a terrorist and am about to kill you “

I was thinking it should be taken to mean "Blow the emergency door nearest the cockpit, and vacuum the bum out into the atmosphere."

Excellent idea!

Actually, something of that nature probably should be incorporated into aircraft design. Not necessarily to dispose of jihadis (although that is still a good idea) but what about if a suspicious ticking container is located?

It would be nice to be able to jettison it from the aircraft in flight rather than waiting to find out what happens when the ticking stops.

There should be several broken bones involved in such a “wrestled to the floor” process as this.

The airliner already has blankets aboard for passenger convenience. Just the thing for a "flash" blanket party.

Yup. Somewhere in Texas I believe, a robber exiting the scene of a crime, ran into four guys on the street, his bad luck being they were off duty officers, and stabbed one. The criminal ended up with broken legs, broken jaw, broken nose, broken arms, etc., and the four guys said it happened when the criminal tripped off the curb. Crime doesn’t pay, eh?

Passengers told of how Almurisi was heard to shout 'Allahu Akbar'--or 'God is great'.

I knew it. The American media was reporting that what he said was unintelligible.

Political Correctness run amuck - the CNN report ignores that Allah Akbar and just says that it was a case of someone going nuts:

Law enforcement official has seen nothing to indicate terrorism link Officials have identified the American Airlines unruly passenger as Rageit al Murisi Airline spokesman: The passenger was subdued by employees, passengers The incident follows security concerns aboard two other U.S. flights

(CNN) -- The unruly passenger who had to be restrained aboard an American Airlines flight to San Francisco appears to have "mental issues," a law enforcement source said Monday.

Rageit al Murisi was "pounding on the cockpit door" minutes before he was subdued on American Airlines Flight 1561 on Sunday night, said Sgt. Michael Rodriguez.

Murisi was quickly restrained by employees and passengers, according to American Airlines spokesman Tim Smith.

"He never breached the cockpit door. The door was locked," said Smith.

According to San Francisco police, Murisi was traveling with a passport from Yemen. A law enforcement official has said police have seen nothing to indicate links to terrorism, including a possible trial run.

Murisi was placed in flex handcuffs and met by Transportation Security Administration officials and San Francisco police when the flight landed in California, Smith said.

Flight 1561 from Chicago to San Francisco departed at 7:05 p.m. Sunday and landed at 9:12 p.m. The Boeing 737 plane had 156 passengers and six working crew members on board. No one was hurt, Smith said.

It was at least the second incident on Sunday in which a passenger described by authorities as disorderly was restrained.

Continental Flight 546 bound for Chicago from Houston made an unscheduled stop in St. Louis because of an "unruly passenger," a St. Louis airport spokesman said Sunday.

Reynel C. Alcaide, 34, of Burbank, Illinois, got out of his seat and rushed toward the front of the airplane, according to a statement from the Justice Department released Monday.

A flight attendant who confronted him was pinned against a wall, the statement says, and Alcaide repeatedly tried to unlatch and open a flight door on Flight 546. He was charged with crimes involving an aircraft and interference with flight crew members and attendants, both of which carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

Also on Sunday, a Delta flight was diverted after a flight attendant found a suspicious note in a lavatory, a TSA official told CNN.

The flight from Detroit to San Diego was diverted to Albuquerque, New Mexico, the FBI said, adding that it was informed of "a potential security threat" on the plane.

Flight 1706 landed in Albuquerque shortly before 10 a.m., and agents were on the scene to investigate, the FBI office in Albuquerque said.

TSA spokeswoman Kristin Lee said the flight landed without incident, and all passengers deplaned safely.

"Passengers and carry-ons were cleared by a canine team, and the plane was swept with negative findings," a TSA statement said.

After this length of time, stewards and sterwardesses should be carrying tazers.

No more being nice. Tackling is not sufficient.

Full title: Air steward tackles Yemeni passenger battering on cockpit, shouting 'Allahu Akbar' as plane comes in to land at San Francisco

What I like is that one of our sissies took down one of their wannabe terrorists. 9/11 changed everything.

Yes, when moslems pull stunts like this, they’re usually testing security.

Occasionally they’re just nuts, but aren’t all moslems nuts? Omoslem proves they are.

The White House is reporting that our new Commando Team of One — The Obaminator — jumped from Air Force One to the passenger plan without a parachute, then he killed the muzzie bare-handed using improvised items from the snack cart.

The man has no clear or known ties to terrorism and authorities have still not yet established a motive, San Francisco police Sergeant Michael Rodriguez told the San Francisco Chronicle.

Islam = terrorism...and the motive is to terrorize and kill we who will not submit.

Clear enough for any rational being.

“Something else, why was he here?”

Yes, I was going to say that too.

Why,why, why, why, WHY are we letting men from Yemen and other terrorist spouting, sponsoring countries into the US? To go to school, or drive a cab, or ANY OTHER REASON?

I don’t understand why EVEN ONE man from Pakistan, Yemen, Libya, Saudia Arabia, Egypt, any of these countries has entered the US since 9/11. Or any Muslim men from ANY country, including Indonesia, any of the Euro countries, Turkey, etc., etc., etc.

OH wait, now I remember, we HAVE no stinking border control. Never mind.
