INDIANAPOLIS, May 10, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Indiana has become the first state to cut off Planned Parenthood from taxpayer assistance because of its role in the abortion business.

Governor Mitch Daniels, a potential contender for the 2012 GOP presidential ticket, signed on Tuesday a measure to block public funds from going to organizations that perform abortions, depriving Planned Parenthood of an estimated $3 million in both state and federal funds.

According to the Associated Press, Planned Parenthood of Indiana has promised to take to federal court to seek a temporary restraining order and injunction Tuesday against the new law.

Looks like Mitch the “RINO” is a leader on social issues after all.

I pray that this trend continues.

A Pro-Life Prayer For Our President And Public Officials

Baby with TearLord God, Author of Life and Source of Eternal Life,

Move the hearts of all our public officials and especially our President, to fulfill their responsibilities worthily and well to all those entrusted to their care.

Help them in their special leadership roles, to extend the mantle of protection to the most vulnerable, especially the defenseless unborn, whose lives are threatened with extermination by an indifferent society.

Guide all public officials by your wisdom and grace to cease supporting any law that fails to protect the fundamental good that is human life itself, which is a gift from God and parents.

You are the Protector and Defender of the lives of the innocent unborn. Change the hearts of those who compromise the call to protect and defend life. Bring our nation to the values that have made us a great nation, a society that upholds the values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all.

Mary, the Mother of the living, help us to bear witness to the Gospel of Life with our lives and our laws, through Christ, Our Lord.

Amen.

I hope this sticks. In a year, we will see a considerable drop in the number of abortions that Indiana Planned Parenthood clinics perform. Then everyone will learn that their tax money had been going towards funding abortions all these years.

...and the fact that he has been since his first day as governor is a mere inconvenience to be ignored.

Good News.

If women want abortions let them go to the guy who got them pregnant.

Good!

Excellent news!

I wonder how that worthless Obama care crap will interfere with states rights on abortion when it goes full force?

Good for Daniels. Stay in Indiana and continue your good work sir. I just don’t trust his and others’ motivations for a Daniels run. Whoever runs against Obama must be an attack dog, that’s who Obama’s petulance and incompetence is exposed. You can’t get up there and be polite to him, he will win.

Now the states HAVE to fund Planned Parenthood? It can’t go to any other service provider, and they MUST fund it.

Uh, I’ve seen Mitch Daniels in action and let me tell you he can be one nasty MF. He could cuff Barry around with one hand tied behind his back.

Daniels gets a bum rap and people throw the RINO label around far too quickly. People don't understand that Daniels is often more interested in getting things done than engaging in ideological warfare via speeches, etc.

Still, gotta say, he isn't very charismatic or energizing. It would be awfully nice to have our nominee be a little more of a exciting figure who is really able to communicate an ideologically conservative message that can reach people. Though I certainly applaud this signing and if Daniels wins the nomination I'd certainly vote for him, but I can't say he is high on my list at the moment.

Good! Now I hope the state doesn’t buckle if the courts order them to keep giving money to those murderers.
