A double tap is 2 quick rounds to the head or the chest, not one to each.

None of the propellant gas is used to power the operating system of those rifles.
And the 416's gas piston is nothing more than an updated AR180, so certainly not brand new.

No, the Mini-14’s inaccuracy comes from other sources, like barrel whip. Ruger recently and finally addressed the issue with the new 580-series (IIRC) Mini14.
You should consider moving south. We need more conservative Yankees to come here seeking refuge, because God knows the 'progressive' moonbats have been a swarming infestation down this way for some time now.

I own a HK-91 (7.62 Nato) and they both use the same gas operations system.
Their gas system routes past the cartridge in the chamber and blows the cartridge clear of the magazine.
The fluted chamber and bypassing gas does help the extraction.
