Give up and Go Away . . . Even Milwaukee’s Paper Agrees

By Gary Marx May 12, 2011

The Wisconsin Supreme Court recount is about to wrap up, and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel editorial board has a special message for Kloppenburg: Give up and go away.

So was it worth it? Probably not. As it appeared from the beginning, it appears even more so now that nothing will change in the election for state Supreme Court. . . .

Kloppenburg had every right to request the recount, but given the cost and the political fallout, it would have been better had she graciously accepted the loss. And — although again she has every right to do so — it would be better if she didn’t challenge the outcome in court, which it appears she will do. In fact, it appears the recount was mere preamble to the court challenge. This is no way to run an election.

Unfortunately I don’t expect the Journal Sentinel to persuade Kloppenburg that she should abandon this expensive and ridiculous effort to delegitimize the outcome of an election she clearly lost.

The longer she drags this out, the more obvious it becomes that she was never qualified to be a justice.

She can’t....
The Daily Kos/Rachel MAddow Whackos have poured too much money in to this.

If she stops now, THEY WILL CRUCIFY HER, like they have done to so many others.

The Liberals are going to be challenging this election in court, dragging it out, further costing state taxpayers thousands of dollars. What a fiasco. If the Milwaukee Journal is getting tired of the follies I would suspect the majority of high-gasoline-paying public are going to shun the Democrats as well.

Why should she, it worked for Franken.

What a sad excuse for an Assistant Attorney General of the State of Wisconsin Kloppy is, actually she’s a sad excuse as a person.

Once Waukesha is done with the recount Kloppenburg will start the lawsuits. The goal is to keep Prosser from being seated for as long as possible.

The suit(s) will go to Dane County judges on the basis that the Waukesha County votes are corrupt.

I am hopeful that even the most liberal judges won’t attempt to overturn this election. Wishful thinking, I know.

They wouldn't be challenging a 7,000+ vote lead if they didn't have theft in mind. They will attempt to have so many valid ballots invalidated, that they will demand that a re-do on the election is in order. This is all being carefully staged.

I wonder how many times this will “work” before people take up arms in response.

Include the union goons and you've nailed it! She is owned.

Exactly right. Poor thing is just a pawn and she loses no matter what happens.

My State Senator is facing a recall and word is he will win with 54%. Word on the street from an attorney we know in La Crosse is similar.

All this over unions losing the right to have the state deduct union dues from worker’s salaries vs. workers writing a check and unions having to stand for recertification yearly.

Already, the state teachers have lost their 3-day free shopping trip to Milwaukee, as the union cancelled the State Teachers Convention.

Don’t need to “find” votes. The plan is to go to court in Dane County and have the Brookfield votes (and the winning margin for Prosser)thrown out completely.

Bet its still going on when the WSC is supposed to be seated in August.

This is what they do, throw as much dirt in the gears as possible and inject turmoil and chaos into every element of culture, government and society. They challenge everything, attack everyone and cause the good people to give up or never get involved.

My guess is Kloppy and her cronies will drag this out as long as they are allowed to, but Prosser will ultimately prevail.

After that, the best possible outcome will be the citizens of Wisconsin become so disgusted that Democrats will be marginalized to the point of extinction.

I think they want to drag this out long enough that Prosser isn’t seated on Aug. 1 and the Supreme Court hears the budget repair bill without him. With a 3-3 court it will be bumped back to the Dane county appellate court where they will rule the bill unconstitutional.
