Let me tell you how a laser works on a target.
The beam imparts energy to teh surface faster than the surface can radiate it away.
The surface then catastrophically fails.
Mirrors, like what you are thinking, would explode WHILE melting.
The reflectant is on the backside of the glass.
Mirrors used in SDI lasers have the reflective medium on the surface of the mirror and a cooling system on the backside.
But if you’d like to wear a mirror while I fire a particle beam laser at you, I wouldn’t mind.
