Pelosi’s healthcare scandal: Waivers affirm ‘all politics is local’
The US Report ^ | May 17, 2011 | Kay Day

Remember how excited Rep. Nancy Pelosi was after Democrats snuck the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act through the back door? Pelosi made a rambling speech that sounded like something you’d hear at a PTA fundraiser. There’s a priceless moment when amid a sprinkle of giggles, she quotes a favorite maxim of the late iconic liberal spender Tip O’Neill—“All politics is local.”

Pelosi’s speech is now history, but she surely affirmed O’Neill’s saying because nearly 20 percent of new ObamaCare waivers are chic businesses located in Pelosi’s home district. The Daily Caller did the math: “Of the 204 new Obamacare waivers President Barack Obama’s administration approved in April, 38 are for fancy eateries, hip nightclubs and decadent hotels in House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s Northern California district.”

Why don’t we just call out PPACA for what it is—a scandal?

The Heritage Foundation reminds us what Pelosi said after she and her fellow leftists passed a very invasive healthcare bill none of them read. She said, “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of controversy.”

Of course there was confusion among all major players in what will eventually be seen as the greatest healthcare swindle of all time, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act most call ObamaCare. Even our president was confused.

Federal Judge Roger Vinson ruled ObamaCare had an unconstitutional mandate. I said that as soon as I finished reading the bill. Vinson used the president’s position to justify the ruling, only he cited Obama as senator. The Washington Times quoted Vinson, “I note that in 2008, then-Senator Obama supported a health care reform proposal that did not include an individual mandate because he was at that time strongly opposed to the idea, stating that...

If this bill was the be-all, end-all that Pelosi & Friends made it out to be, absolutely ZERO waivers would have had to be issued.

Waivers are BS, subsidies are BS. If a law isn’t good for ALL, it isn’t good for ANY.

Every Republican candidate should promise that if elected they will give every single American an Obamacare “waiver”. This would destroy the program without any necessity of legislative action. Problem solved.

This story seems to be all over the place today, which I think is a good thing.

Issa needs to hold a hearing and grill Sebelius on camera about each and every one of these waivers.

Why doesn’t Congress just pass a “blanket waiver” to ALL who apply.
That should do it, shouldn’t it?

PPACA is nothing more than another of many a tool for the Left to use to control those that don’t abide their will.

The Left, the Socialist Democrats are making we the people pay their way. Seems everything they are doing ultimately is to cause us to pay for our own demise, and into their perspective of governance which basically is slavery.

The Left may be mental, but they are cunning, and that’s what we have to beware.

The next President’s first offical act on 1/20/2013 should be to grant a waiver to the entire nation.

Except for the folks that can't afford the mandated insurance that would qualify for subsidies. They would still qualify for subsidies. Ergo, free health insurnace. Now, who do you think has to pay for giving out free healthcare?

I’m only surprised that liberal hypocrisy is still considered newsworthy.

I’ll try to act surprised when nothing comes of this. :(
