As a Texan, I say HECK NO. He is as wishy washy as they come, we have to force him into a corner to actually do something conservative.

Never been overwhelmed by Perry, but we could do much worse. He would be better than some of the also ran governors in the race. Daniels and Pawlenty could win me over, but I don’t see either as having the campaign skills to win the race. Romney is a non-starter. I was not for a Perry candidacy, but I am becoming warm to the idea.

I've always said Rick was going to get into the game, but on his own schedule.

Perry/Palin 2012 ...and I'm sticking with it.

I've suspected Perry might emerge as a darkhorse candidate, and I hope he does. His record, while not perfect, is credible, and he seems to be free of RINO Disease. He's an outside-the-Beltway candidate, which I think is important for the 2012 race. And, he once shot a threatening coyote with his own handgun, which I just can't see Brak doing, which give him instant manly credibility.

I hope he runs.

Herman Cain. We might as well lose while standing for free enterprise, limited government, and yes putting to rest the “Republicans are all racists” canard.

As a native Texan I say NO!!! Perry was born a Democrat and only switched parties because a Democrat was already running for Texas Agriculture Commissioner.

Is there a rural county dog catcher who hasn’t been “looked at” as presidential material so they can avoid the 800 lb gorrilla in the room? Geez. Gov. Sarah Palin has TENS OF MILLIONS of supporters just waiting to work their fingers to the bone to get her elected.

I wouldn’t vote for Gov. Goodhair for POTUS any sooner than I would Gingrich, Huckabee or Ron Paul.

He is a weak sister when it comes to ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION and all that it brings with it.

The poster boy for Kelo vs. New London type eminent domain abuse has as much chance as Huck had.

No.

No McRomney, McGingrich, McPawlenty, McDaniels, and McPerry.

Not this time. What you are seeing is the RINO establishment finally waking up to the power of the Tea party and desperately searching for the one RINO ringer that hasn’t been outed as a statist.

He would be at the top of the list for me. Clearly preferable to Mitt, Pawlenty, Bachmann, Cain.

Perry has the best electability + conservative quotient of anyone in the current field.

has learned that political associates have begun to nose around quietly on Perry's behalf.

I heard him state in a recent interview on WBAP in Ft. Worth (Jason Lewis show) that he would not run for President. Political Associates are another matter. I doubt Governor "Rick" will run for President.

Noooooooooooooo! Stay where you are, Rick.

He’s just not national politics caliber, and is a sun-shine conservative.

(I’m a Texan).

Adios Mofo...

He's good on some issues, soft on others, and horrible on things like the Trans-Texas Corridor.

I’m not interested in anybody who’s “waiting to be summoned into the race.” By and large, I like Perry, but he’s gotta have Colin Powell’s “fire in the belly” (which Powell admitted he didn’t have) in order to be a good candidate, IMHO.
