If anything, possibly the legacy that Obama might eventually bestow is that he gave encouragement to a bunch of terrific African-Americans to get more involved in political leadership.

I'd hate to see Allen West waste four to eight years, just standing in the wings as VP. He has far too much to contribute to our nation at this time, and can best do that by staying in Congress.
Some want him to run for president now, but I say that it's far too early in his political career for that. He only just arrived in Washington, and has yet to build a record of accomplishment in office. It also takes time to build the sort of political alliances that are necessary to be a winning candidate.

He does not want to be part of Boehner’s Dog and Pony Show to appease the TEA Party. Remember the 60 billion and it turned out to be 38 million? Our Lottery is higher than that!

If Allen West were to run for president as a freshman House Rep, he'd lose, no matter how much he's loved and admired by the Freeper community.
He's going to go far in US politics, but he's only getting started. Within a few short years, he'll have strong name recognition, and a well known reputation and record to stand on.
It seems we went from the days of last week where folks were casting West to the wolves without giving the man a chance to explain himself. I haven’t noticed any references this week to West’s controversial position on Obamacare that sparked the outrage.
I don’t doubt your confidence, panthermom, but I’m not sure everyone shares it. I’ll lookout for any comments West made on the issue since.

Allen West has far too much good to do over the next few years to be relegated to the job of presidential stand in.
We need him in a position where he can actually get something done over the next four years. He's right where he needs to be.
I read the statement from his aid, and if you listen to him speak in interviews, he is just not about the BS to appease people.
From what I read, what the GOP put together, was NOT going to have a chance to pass in the Senate, he felt that what was going on in the ME was more pressing and needed to be dealt with immediately. I have to agree with him. Obamacare won’t mean anything if we get roped into a World War on several fronts, this must be addressed ASAP! I have a strong feeling that with his contacts, he knows something is up!
I have not been able to actually hear West speak, but I hope to. I got that shot at the Ft. Lauderdale St. Paddy’s Day Parade this year. So far he seems to be an excellent guy who believes what he says. I don’t expect anyone to be perfect, which seems to be what some are looking for. They are doomed to disappointment unless they plan to run themselves.

Brown is like all thieves and liars... they make us trust all people less.
Unlike West, I never did think Brown was anything but shallow and lacking in character.
