Why Is Soros Spending Over $48 Million Funding Media Organizations?
Fox News ^ | May 18, 2011 | Dan Gainor

For George Soros and ProPublica’s other liberal backers, it was again proof that a strategy of funding journalism was a powerful way to influence the American public.

It’s a strategy that Soros has been deploying extensively in media both in the United States and abroad. Since 2003, Soros has spent more than $48 million funding media properties, including the infrastructure of news – journalism schools, investigative journalism and even industry organizations.

And that number is an understatement. It is gleaned from tax forms, news stories and reporting. But Soros funds foundations that fund other foundations in turn, like the Tides Foundation, which then make their own donations. A complete accounting is almost impossible because a media component is part of so many Soros-funded operations.

...

Soros funds more than just the most famous journalism school in the nation. There are journalism industry associations

...

Liberal academic programs, left-wing investigative journalism and even supposedly neutral news organizations all paid for by a man who spends tens of millions of dollars openly attacking the right. George Soros is teaching journalists that their industry has a future as long as he opens his wallet.

Because if you wish to control what people think, you must control their information input.

Put another way- we make decisions based on information we receive, so if that information is controlled and channeled, so are your decisions.

Orwell’s 1984, and Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals and the “Port huron Statement” from Hayden

http://www.h-net.org/~hst306/documents/huron.html

all point out the efficacy of controlling what you know.

Its about time, Fox.

I'd like to see this question put to smarmy leftwing journalists who still refuse to admit any bias at all.

Simple. They are not making money by selling product.

Therefore they rely on “donations” in return for publishing Open Society propaganda.

When government controls private property, controlling government becomes profitable. In a democracy (as opposed to a republic), controlling public opinion is therefore a way to control property to accrue wealth and power.

It's cheaper and less risky than making productive investments.

Oh, but they are. Haven't you noticed how entertainment and celebrity stories dominate the news every since the entertainment companies bought the networks?

The enemedia no longer views their news organizations as providing information or a service. They view them as advertising to support either the entertainment arm of their enterprise (Hollywood) or their sponsorship arm (Soros and his NWO cabal), usually both.
