Grand Jury is today for Senator who allegedly caused pregnant mom's death (No Indictment )

The Grand Jury is today for Colorado State Senator who allegedly caused a pregnant woman to lose her life last year.

It's the tragic story of a car accident that took the life of Brianna Gomez who was seven months pregnant. Her pre-mature baby, Curren, remained in critical condition but has since been allowed to come home.

An SUV, driven by Colorado State Senator Suzanne Williams, allegedly veered into oncoming traffic in Dec. 2010, near Channing, authorities said. Her SUV then collided head-on with a vehicle carrying 30-year-old Gomez and her family.

Gomez was killed and her son, Curren, was delivered by cesarean section.

This case originally brought the senator under fire because of the fact that passengers of her vehicle were not wearing seat belts.

Inside Williams' vehicle, three passengers, including two children and her adult son, were not wearing seat belts. According to a preliminary crash report, the senator picked up her three-year-old grandson from the road after he was ejected and put him in a child safety seat in her car.

Williams, herself, has pushed for tough child restraint laws.

Given that nowhere in the article does it state a party affiliation, that must mean the murderer was a Democrat Senator, right?

Funny thing being a Colorado Resident, she has pushed many of these nanny-state, do-gooder bills like primary seatbelt enforcement, ban on radar/laser jammers and others. Because of the wreck, she couldn’t be Senate Transportation Chair but did get Vice Chair for that committee. In my opinion, she should not be allowed to have anything to do with traffic laws.

I wonder why they waited to have the grand jury, they should have done it back when the Colorado legislature was in session. Be interesting to see if she gets off or gets indicted.

The article fails to mention her political party in the headline or the text. That must mean she is a Democrat.

No (R) after her name, so she must be a (D).

In Texas, grand juries composed of residents frequently decide whether an investigation proceeds to a criminal trial. In Colorado, as in New Mexico and Oklahoma, a district attorney decides whether to pursue criminal charges, then the cases are presented to a judge in a hearing.

According to her website, she is a Democrat, also...

"Senator Suzanne Williams is starting her seventh year in the State Senate after serving eight years in the Colorado House of Representatives. Senator Williams is the only registered American Indian state legislator in Colorado. Currently, she serves on the Business, Labor and Technology Committee, and continues as the Vice-Chair of the Transportation Committee."

So, the SUV did this all on it’s own and the Senator was just sitting inside watching it happen?

She has her own website and was demoted to vice-chair of the transportation committee due to this accident.

Since you have to be in the majority party to hold such a position and since the Democrats have a 20-15 majority in the Colorado Senate, that would definitely make her a Democrat.

But we all figured it out by the way the media is covering for her, didn't we?

Report: Senator Moved Ejected Grandson To Carseat After Crash

Suzanne Williams Involved In Fatal Crash In Texas

Deb Stanley, 7NEWS Producer
10:11 am MST January 5, 2011

AMARILLO, Texas — A preliminary accident report released Wednesday showed that after a fatal crash in Texas, Colorado state Sen. Suzanne Williams picked up her 3-year-old grandson and put him in a child’s carseat before police arrived.

The boy had been ejected and had not been belted in a child safety seat, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety report obtained by 7NEWS.

The report on the Dec. 26 head-on crash near Channing, Texas, raises questions about the actions of the state senator, who advocates for children to be properly restrained in carseats or booster seats

You would be correct.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said Colorado State Sen. Suzanne Williams, D-Aurora, drove onto the wrong side of the road, directly toward the Gomez family.

You didn't actually expect her to resign her political office and spend time in the slammer like the former South Dakota governor did for killing a motorcycle driver, do you?

Don't you know that those laws only apply to Repugnantcans?

Here is how the story MAY have appeared if the same incident had occurred except involving a republican senator:

"The Grand Jury is today for Republican Colorado State Senator who allegedly caused a pregnant woman to lose her life last year.

It's the tragic story of a car accident that took the life of Brianna Gomez who was seven months pregnant. Her pre-mature baby, Curren, remained in critical condition but has since been allowed to come home.

An SUV, driven by Republican Colorado State Senator Evel Capitalist, who is a member of the Republican Party, allegedly veered into oncoming traffic in Dec. 2010, near Channing, authorities said. The Republican's luxury SUV then collided head-on with a vehicle carrying 30-year-old Gomez and her family. Gomez was killed and her son, Curren, was delivered by cesarean section.

It was back in February when MSM News first reported that District Attorney David Green said he anticipated the case against the Republican Senator to be presented in April. It will now be presented on the original date of May 18 at 9:00 a.m. This was changed from the planned May 27 Grand Jury which is now canceled.

Green's office said a press conference will follow the Grand Jury trial.

It is believed that Evel Capitalist, a prominent member of Colorado's Republican Party, could face criminal charges relating to the accident.

This case originally brought the Republican senator under fire because of the fact that passengers of her vehicle were not wearing seat belts.

Inside the Republican Senator's luxury SUV, three passengers, including two children and her adult son, were not wearing seat belts. According to a preliminary crash report, Evel, the Republican senator picked up his own three-year-old grandson from the road after he was ejected and put him in a child safety seat in her car.

Evel Capitalist has in the past pushed for tough child restraint laws in his capacity as a Republican State Senator."

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A man is grieving his wife’s death after a fatal car crash last week. He said his son is being unfairly charged in her death.

Teen Charged In Crash That Killed Mom

Kimberly Nichols, 45, was killed April 13 when her 16-year-old son was driving the family’s Volkswagen convertible to an orthodontist appointment. Police said the teen, a new driver, was making a left turn from Dallas Highway onto Old Hamilton Road.

“It was green. There was a box truck on the other side turning also. They eased up. They both looked. She told him to go. He looked. They went,” Nichols’ husband, Michael Mosley, said.

Mosley said his son then saw two cars coming that he couldn’t see past the box truck. One car clipped the back bumper. The second slammed into the passenger side of the Volkswagen, killing Nichols.

On Tuesday, the family found out the 16-year-old faces second-degree vehicular homicide charges in the crash.
