Peter Fonda calls Obama 'traitor' at Cannes

CANNES - PETER Fonda launched a four-letter attack on US President Barack Obama at the Cannes film festival on Wednesday, calling him a traitor over the handling of the aftermath of the Gulf oil spill.

The star of the 1969 road movie Easy Rider was in Cannes for the premiere of The Big Fix by Rebecca and Josh Tickell, the only feature documentary in the official selection at the Cannes film festival this year.

Fonda - a keen environmentalist and co-producer of the film which centres on the explosion of the BP oil rig Deepwater Horizon, the ensuing spill and its consequences - accused Washington of trying to gag reporting on the issue.

'I sent an email to President Obama saying, 'You are a traitor,' using those words... 'You're a traitor, you allowed foreign boots on our soil telling our military - in this case the coastguard - what they can and could not do, and telling us, the citizens of the United States, what we could or could not do'.'

Well, in all fairness.. he could’ve swam there, or paddled himself.

Oh, I'm BIG into the fairness gig. If he didn't walk, fly, run, swim or paddle, I assume he took some sort of flotation device. Right now, the HOTTEST ride is the USS Cesar Chavez. If there are no tickets left, he can always score the Murtha -

(Jack Nicholson OTOH stole every scene he was in)

They should make a movie starring Jack Nicholson and Jim Carrey. They could call it Clash of the Titan (Egos).

The only movie I ever liked Peter Fonda in was “The Hired Hand.” Of course having Warren Oates co-staring didn’t hurt either.

“Peter Fonda sits down to pee.”

And when he craps all he has to do is break off a piece of himself and throw it in the toilet.

Such a pity a couple of Skyhawks didn’t appear over the location and exact time that photo was taken and drop some NAPALM on the BITCH.

Peter’s best movie is the one that he was nominated as best actor for by the Oscar’s, the conservative movie Ulee’s Gold in 1998.

“It is this reviewer’s opinion that low-budget, independent releases such as this one exemplify Christian values where mainstream Hollywood movies do not.”

I know that passes for good journalism, but I like the catchy phrase once in a while.

“Mr. President, we’ve lost your Peter.”, packs a lot more punch.

Over time I have softened my stance on Jane Fonda.

Today I only loathe her in total contempt, and can’t wait until I can go weewee on fresh dirt. And yes, I’ve been holding back for close to forty years.

Yes, most fun I ever while wearing clothes was strapping on a Scooter and going flying! A more than suitable platform for dropping some air-to-ground ordnance on Jane "Commie" Fonda's punkin' head.

Fonda, who said he sent the email last week, appears in The Big Fix trying to get on to Louisiana beaches to assess the impact of the biggest oil spill in US history, only to be turned away by BP clean-up personnel. Speaking at a press event at the American Pavilion to promote the film, Fonda denounced BP as 'a bunch of Brits - I thought we kicked them out a long time ago. They tried to get back in in 1812, but they didn't make it.'

I don't know much about Peter Fonda (who seems to keep a much lower profile than his sister), but as a distant Fonda cousin I have to say he is justified in being peeved about being kept off of an American beach by a British company, because his 5ggrandfather Douw Jellis Fonda (1700-1780) was killed during a raid by the British Army and their Mohawk allies in 1780 during which his house was plundered and burned and his sons were taken as prisoners.

Interesting. I agree that no foreign entity has a right to keep us off our own territory.

Hey peteie....remember these words.....

Get your motor running
Head out on the highway
Looking for adventure
In whatever comes our way

Yeah, darling
Gonna make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once and
Explode into space

I like smoke and lightning
Heavy metal thunder
Racing in the wind
And the feeling that I’m under

Yeah, darling
Gonna make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once and
Explode into space

Like a true nature child
We were born
Born to be wild
We have climbed so high
Never want to die
Born to be wild
Born to be wild

I thought he was pretty good in Ghost Rider!

Thank you for your reply.

I was way, WAY too young for Vietnam, but I have always despised that piece of Commie loving crap. The worse was that her ass wasn’t at least tossed into prison for aiding and abetting those wretched VC.

Thanx for the cool image! I think the Argentinian and Brazilian Navies still fly them. Too bad New Zealand got rid of theirs.
