Haven’t spent much time in the city lately, huh?

Take a drive in. Look around.

Buy another case of ammo on the way home.

I will be the guy carrying a weapon and a shovel. I am very capable with either. And I want to be your friend.

I disagree. Zombies have to be shot through the head, so the scatter power of shotguns is not an advantage. The range of a light rifle is an advantage. I would recommend a bullpup .223 like the Steyr AUG. It is effective at all ranges and the quick acquisition scope gets em right between the eyes.

Works for me. Shared defense of shared food and I'll even lend you a small plot of ground if you want to grow some extra for yourself.

If you live in one of the states where suppressors aren't prohibited, why bother constructing your own?

I already know from first-hand experience that Springfield M1A rifles are very quiet when properly suppressed and using quality subsonic 7.62x51mm.

The basics of preparation are the same. Have a “Go Bag” ready, make plans for rendezvous sites, etc. (Of course, you can get MUCH more involved ... lol)

Pinning the disaster on “zombies” is just a fun way of getting the same basic message across. I like it.

"I’m assuming zombies can’t swim and I could easily last 3 weeks on a pontoon raft out in the middle of the lake."

During zombie outbreaks, at least as many people die from "natural causes", such as exposure, as from being devoured by the walking dead. You're a prime candidate. But, in your favor, you'd never have to worry about where to go potty.

I'm going to get me a zombie girlfriend.

I wrote a song about it.

The proper application of high explosives will result in successful resolution of all zombie problems.

What would be the best gun for protection from the zombies?

A Ruger 10-22 and about 20 or so 30 round magazines.

Hi Point carbines just keep on working, and they are inexpensive, spit 9mm or 40 cal or .45 ACP. Only drawback is magazine capacity, but you can buy lots of factory mags at a reasonable price and the rounds hit harder than a .22lR. As to handguns ... well, .45 ACP out of a 1911 is hard to beat, and there are twenty round mags for 1911s now. Personally, I depend upon the little M1 Carbine to compliment the higher caliber rifles. I can’t see all that well out past 100 yards anyway, so the M1 is all I really need for a personal defense rifle. Of course I load it with hollowpoint ammo.

That was good, some Friday night you should post a thread in chat about it.

I should probably start requiring doubters to bet real money, Lurker:

M14 EBR firing LaRue and Engel Ballistic Research 7.62x51mm subsonic at Silencertests Shoot 2009.

Order yours here:

Engel Ballistic Research 7.62 Thumper

I've sure seen a lot of nice suppressed M1As and AR-10s at our county ranges, and they'll shoot way out past 500 yards with these rounds.

It is a federal law and the permits take a year and $200 to get the permit let alone the device.

I think my 458 magnum would be good for taking up to a dozen out at a time. A 007 suppressor like a quart soda bottle taped to the barrel would be expedient. Why did the CDC not release this kind of information?

Why did the CDC release this?

Because a very brave person decided to expose the conspiracy. The CDC has been keeping Zombie danger hidden from us for decades.

The person who authored this blog did so at huge personal risk...for all we know he's been spirited away to Michael AAF already. Have you seen him since this blog was posted?

Why didn’t the CDC tell us how to destroy these Zombies?
