I had this big aha last night on the way home from rehearsal. They were saying that the Obama campaign is selling tshirts that say 'Born in the USA' (or something like that) with a long-form birth certificate on it. And his mug, of course.
Call me skeptical, but I wondered if Donald Trump were not, perchance, part of Obama's campaign? He jumps in, stirs the pot, makes the birth certificate a BIG DEAL, Obama releases it to glorious fanfare and much publicity, because now it's front and center. Trump bails. Obama sells tshirts.
It stinks to high heavens to me, as if they used the 'birther' issue to their advantage, to make conservatives look like frothers, to 'prove' (not to me) that Obama was born in the US, so it would no longer be an issue.
I am sure this is what happened.
I don’t think you’re off the mark at all. I’ve thought and said this from the beginning. Trump had no intention to run. He’s a freaking liberal DEMOCRAT doing the exact same thing Obamajad did to get elected. He said ALL right words without having any record whatsoever of having the ability to back up his bragadocious claims. AND of course in the end he just couldn’t reject the $60M the network offered him to renew his ‘Apprentice’ contract. Trump was an Obamajad stoolie from the get go.
It may also be “whistling past the graveyard”. Obama’s a liar, we know that. No one questioned his new found B.C. so he’s running with it. Trump had his feelings hurt at the Correspondent’s Dinner so he took his football and went home. No statesmen, only politicians. No backbone, all invertebrates. We are rapidly approaching our last option.
Seeing clearly is the first step.
Both Trump and Joseph Farra from WorldNetDaily worked together on this.
WND set up a simple premise, ‘Where’s the Birth Certificate?’, instead of proving citicenship. From there trump easliy moved it to the public forefront, the Obama was able to hit a home run using a birth certificate that’s been ready since 2008.
Yeah, that’s it.
I posted this very thought a few days ago “Trumped” was the post title. It seems that he [Trump] served up the ball to Obama to take it awy from any candidate in 2012.
Unlikely. The BC they put out is clearly fraudulent, and they would much sooner have the whole matter kept quiet.
“Trump was an Obamajad stoolie from the get go.”
Maybe Obama’s planning to dump Biden and replace him with Trump. Hard to see the downside in this, since a) no one thinks Biden is doing a fantastic job and hence it would be unthinkable to replace him; b) Trump’s no-nonsense style appeals to a lot of people, so his being on the ticket could draw in a lot of Independent voters who otherwise would vote Republican (especially if they thought Trump would give Obama a little more backbone in a way that Biden clearly has not); c) Trump’s downside—his buffoonishness—isn’t any more severe than Biden’s; and d) Trump is positioned to make his own financial contributions to the campaign to ensure Obama reaches his $1 billion target.
The advantages to Trump are obvious. He clearly burns his bridges with far-right Republicans forever, but assuming he’s the factor allowing Obama to win in 2012, this arrangement gives him a) 4 years of OJT as Veep, overcoming most doubts about whether a private sector executive is really equipped to handle the scope and nature of responsibilities facing a U.S. president; b) makes him a “shoo-in” as candidate in 2016 so long as he performs competently as VP (do you think he has ANY doubts about his ability in this regard?); and c) in the meantime gives him a great platform for constantly stroking his ego for 4 years—jetting all over the country making speeches, appearing regularly on Sunday news shows, perhaps being able to tackle some major policy problems such as education or immigration etc.
Trump’s positioned himself perfectly. He got a lot of attention, he handed BHO a favor on the birth certificate and he’s taken himself out of the Republican race. When Biden “voluntarily” announces that he wants to leave public office due to “family matters” or “health issues” or whatever and the president publicly invites Trump to join him on the ticket, Trump can say it’s his patriotic duty to help a sitting president etc.
At the end of the day, Trump’s got way too big an ego to turn down the prospect of this country’s biggest trophy: POTUS. Despite his ego, I think he recognizes that pursuing this prize in the conventional fashion via a Republican nomination would not be an easy slog. Romney’s arguably been both a successful business person AND gotten executive experience as a governor. Other candidates have much better positions on the issues than Trump does as far as the Republican base. He’s far from a shoo-in.
In contrast, there’s far fewer risks to him in the strategy of being Obama’s VP. In the worst case that the ticket loses, I don’t think he’s any worse off than if he hadn’t run (look how Palin’s visibility/seriousness as a candidate rose after being McCain’s running mate). He can always claim he accepted the running mate position out of patriotic duty, not because he necessarily supported Obama’s political positions. He can even hint that he felt that he thought he could do the country a lot of good by improving Obama’s ability to govern (should Obama lose in 2012, the bloom will be off the rose and everyone will recognize his weaknesses for what they are, hence this claim by Trump won’t be viewed as arrogant or self-serving).
Nope... As matter of fact I think OBL would still be alive if Trump did not bring it up. Remember Obama’s poll numbers were really low. Trump was bashing Obama on the birth certificate, OBL, etc...
Next thing you know OBL releases the long form Certificate of Live Birth, bashes Trump and then after not being invited to the Royal Wedding he takes out OBL. All in 4 days....
The real questions is why was there a new Certificate of Live Birth after we were told that the previous copy was the only? If Obama knew where OBL was since August of 2010, then why did he wait so long?
Obambi is all about theater !!
Think you’re right about Biden leaving but it will be Hillary who changes her course and decides to “do her patriotic duty” and run as VP.
That sets her up for 2016. Don’t know how healthy Obummer might be for the next 4 yrs, tho.
Good question and if Trump was working for Obama, why did Trump bring up so many of Obama's other failures. Seems to me if they were working together, Trump would have just hammered the BC and not said a word about the other stuff.
Exactly. Trump really hammered Obama and referred to him as an unmitigated disaster. With friends like those...
Trump's silence in the face of this latest obvious forgery is the dog that didn't bark for me.
And now thinking about all the hoopla that surrounded Trump's questions about the BC, I find it curious that he got invited onto many of the left wing TV shows to talk about these questions. I won't be holding my breath waiting for Jerome Corsi to appear on The View.
“it will be Hillary who changes her course and decides to do her patriotic duty and run as VP.”
If HRC wants in, it would be a disaster for Obama to select Trump over her. There are plenty of Hillary supporters who already are outraged over how she was treated in 2008 and who feel he robbed her of the nomination, i.e., didn’t win it fair and square. Thus, to pour salt in the wound by shafting her once again would result in millions or even tens of millions sitting out the election or encouraging HRC to make a primary challenge to BHO. In that case, my scenario doesn’t fly.
But IIRC, Hillary has expressed no interest in running in 2012 or even 2016. She’s getting pretty old and I’m not sure she still has the “fire in the belly” needed to run a credible (but exhausting) presidential campaign. She knows if she sits in as VP for 4 years, the pressure would be overwhelming to run in 2016, when she’d be 69. She’d be the clear front-runner and likely would feel as if she left her party in the lurch if she opted not to run at that juncture. Ronald Reagan did it at that age, but frankly, he was in a lot better physical shape than she is.
My take is that everyone is saying that Obama is a disaster anyway, and this far out in the cycle, it does not seem to matter whether there is criticism. Even the press will occasionally say something negative during this period. Trump was safe in being critical to give himself the street cred to demand the birth certificate.
What matters, is that it has taken the Birth Certificate issue off the table by bringing it out before it would have an appreciable effect on the election, so no one will care any more. That he released it so soon, even if fraudulent, will mean that everyone will disregard claims of fraud, no matter how well founded.
Trump was Obama’s agent and clean-up man to clear the decks of a thorny issue, and to incidentally make a little cash for himself.
A liar will always tell you they are a liar if you listen carefully enough. Trump has done that, IMHO.

When you already believe in your heart what happened, then any set of facts will do.
On some level, you must realize that Trump is acting like Trump always does, promoting himself, being egotistical and speaking bombastically. The the idea that he’s in cahoots with Obama, publicly humiliating himself, damaging his ego and potentially threatening his advertisers and business interests, is simply not reasonable.
If this were a TV show, where the writers can decide that ‘someone got to him’ (or Jedi mind tricks, mind control, hypnosis or a doppleganger takes over) and changes the character to act against his own interests, then sure, it would be plausible. Otherwise, no. Trump’s not that good an actor, and he’s not that stupid.
He was hoping for a few months of free publicity before bowing out. He got a few weeks, and got blown out instead. Ain’t no more complicated than that.
While I’m very disapointed Trump has apparently already called off his attacks, they were multi-pronged and effective. He was hitting Obama hard on many things besides the Birth Certificate, including his illegal real estate deals in Chicago that Trump said he should be in jail for. He hit him over his college grades, his bowing to Saudia Arabia, many other things including calling him the worst President ever.
You just don’t bring up all those other things that are damaging to Obama, and repeat them over and over if you’re trying to help him. It’s just too bad he already quit, and no one else is willing to pick up where he left off...
