Palin: Pelosi telling 'tight-faced lie' on healthcare reform law waivers By Jordan Fabian - 05/19/11 06:30 AM ET

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) on Wednesday accused House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) of telling a "tight-faced lie" in saying she had nothing to do with healthcare reform waivers granted to companies in her district.

During an appearance on Fox News's "Hannity," Palin echoed a quip made by comedian Dennis Miller that Pelosi was telling "a tight-faced lie" on the issue of the waivers — a reference to speculation that she had undergone plastic surgery.

"In the words of Dennis Miller today, who said on Fox in reference to something Nancy Pelosi said, what she is saying is a tight-faced lie," Palin said. "We cannot believe what it is she tells us now."

Palin is continuing her offensive against the former House Speaker over reports that a large number of San Francisco-area businesses got waivers, arguing they're an example of "crony capitalism."

But according to the company that managed the waiver applications, which is owned by a Republican, Pelosi had no influence over the waiver process.

Miller, a right-leaning comic and former "Saturday Night Live" star, originally made his joke on Fox News's "O'Reilly Factor."

"At this point in time, I can't tell if Nancy Pelosi is telling a bold-faced lie, or a two-faced lie, or a tight-faced lie. But I'll tell you this, I consider her to be the preeminent liar of her generation," he said.

A video of Pelosi shown on Fox this AM showed her body language to be one of a person totally smarting under the loss of power that she has experienced lately. She was a mean looking female dog. It would not be nice to get in her way especially since the heat about the San Francisco waivers to ObamaKare flared up.

Face it - no conservative male politician could get away with a reference to a female politician’s looks.

You are listening to the ‘lame-stream’ media too much.I have two post-college degrees and find Sarah and her language very refreshing.Too many conservatives are letting the ‘lame-stream’ media set OUR AGENDA.We had enough of this last time.Sarah supports our conservative agenda better than most of the Republican candidates.

Gov Palin will minimize and lampoon the opposition at every opportunity. That is their soft underbelly. Especially Obie. Nancy will get mad, but Obama will eventually explode.

Matching the list of waivers with campaign donations to Obama and Democrats in Congress should show a rather large correlation. This is just Chicago politics...we take care of our friends and punish anyone who opposes us.

So, what term do you use to refer to the “lamestream” media?Seriously, that’s a real question.

Oh please! (as my eyes rolled)

The whole interview was great and that small zing was nothing, it’s about time someone tell it like it is

Did anyone catch this? We have to peel this onion! Why would the government have to hire a firm to handle healthcare waiver applications? How much are they being paid? Who’s vote got bought to establish this company who manages healthcare waiver applications? What do we have DHHS agency for?

Yeah, it is a statement without context and needs further explanation.

I disagree. Candidates and politicians being “above all that” results in what happened to President Bush. The “new tone” and not taking it to the socialist idiots was all about being “above all that”. How did that work out again? Ridiculing the ‘Rat idiots mercilessly at every opportunity is absolutely the way to go.

The company that manages the waiver apps do not grant the waivers...is that right? So,what does it matter what party affiliation the owner espouses? And i'm with you on this one...why is there an outside company to handle waiver apps?

If you are an employee of company A, and company A requests and is granted a waiver, wouldn't an employee of company A have standing to file suit claiming harm because they cannot participate in Obamacare?

Just asking? I'm sure you would be fired from your job for doing it, but then that's a double suit.

My guess is that if an outside company "manages" healthcare waiver applications, that they are a private company and thus do not have to comply with FOIA requests. Loose lips if ya know............

That company may also be the farm team for a single payer nationalized plan and are just getting practice at making political decisions on individual healthcare which can be shielded from political consequences.

Company that managed the applications? WTH does that mean?

Good catch. What does it mean? Is is a private company? or a government agency? If private, who owns it? Affiliation? Has this company/ agency handled ALL waiver applications? I wonder how we can get some answers.

Sarah is REAL and reacts like most of us do to the daily assaults inflicted on our once great nation. She speaks for us AND she speaks like us AND a whole lot of us like her for it. Style over substance has has us in a world of hurt. I’ll take substance over style every time and Sarah is a woman of substance. Pray that we are smart enough to give her the chance to lead us back to a world of sanity.

Sad!?! Sad was GWB ‘being above it all’ and NEVER fighting back. Sad is any and all criticisms of the Regime being called ‘RAAACIST!’ Sad is $4 a gallon gas and milk.

Calling out the crony capitilism and quid pro quos of the left, is happy! Using the Alinsky tactic of isolating; ridiculing Nancy Pelosi is, in addition to great theatre, politically brilliant. Put the dimmest Dims on the defensive side for a change..

As always...Well done Palin.

I disagree. She simply told it like it is. “Tight-faced lie” is just exactly what it is, so why sugar coat it? It’s about time someone uses the leftist Alinsy-drones’ own tactics on these evil people! For too long conservatives had always tried to play nice and “be above it” and where has that gotten us? I put Sarah’s calling Nancy a “tight-faced liar” in the same category as Andrew Breitbart telling the union thugs and leftist counter-protesters in Madison to “go to hell. No seariously, go to hell.” Harsh words that needed to be said without the sugar coating.
