Supposedly he will be under house arrest in an apartment with an ankle monitor and armed guards posted at the exits.

I'm skeptical.

Lots of holes in the story—it’s no way certain
that the maid is telling the truth (anymore than
it’s certain that DSK is telling the truth).

The maid apparently changed the time of the supposed
assault after she learned that DSK checked out of the hotel before that.

Then there are questions about what her time/key card shows; whether DSK was alone or not (no guards, secretaries?); and so on.

IOW, so far all we can know is that there is an allegation (admittedly against someone I would like to see guilty).

I personally don’t think he has anything to worry about. I mean, if you or I get arrested for something like this, it’s a sure bet we’ll end up providing conjugal enjoyment to a big guy named Bubba. Someone with this guy’s money can pay for lawyers who know how to select juries and how to manipulate the juries they select. You’ve also got money to grease palms and buy off your accuser. So it wouldn’t surprise me if he stays and takes his chances.

He probably has more than one passport. Certainly a normal one and a diplomatic passport to use on business. Then a spare to keep in a secret place.
I’ll be even money the he skips bail and heads to France.
Security will be asleep and his bracelet will be tied to the bed post. Wife will know nothing..
Otherwise he shoots himself...

I’m gussing some judge in some court somewhere caved in to the pressure and enourmous power of the French who claim this was a set-up.

Smells like a setup to me. I'm uncomfortable with this whole thing.

He won’t have a jury trial. He will plead out or have a bench trial. He will do time if he stays in the US - less time than he should, but he’s already done more time than he can bear. He’s a flight risk.

This warrants Breaking News how??

Ah, a freeper who has been here since 2005 and doesn't have a clue who people outside Hollywood and E! are. Sad really.

When news involving powerful international finance figures occurs, this guy wants it to go away.

Responsibility 2nd, or never or however much you hate that idea there is no Jlo or Britney Spears here.

You seem to have wondered onto the wrong site in a brain fog.

The DA and the NYC Police chief wouldn’t go out on alimb for a maid with a guy like this if they didn’t have a really good case!

Of course he should get bail. It is a right guaranteed in the Constitution and is abused way to much, mainly because the current generation of Americans believe everyone is guilty until proven innocent.

It might be different if we had not already lost our Constitutional right to a speedy trial but this will probably not happen for years.

"Lots of holes in the story - it’s no way certain that the maid is telling the truth"

Let a defense lawyer argue his case. That he may be innocent of the charges against him has no bearing. He's a liberal.. an evil piece of statist filth. Pile on, enjoy his suffering, do what you can to make it worse.

Bubba: you want to play house with me tonight?
DSK: Oui
Bubba: you want to be the Mama or the Papa?
DSK: I’ll be the Papa!
Bubba: OK Papa, come over here and bendover for Mama!

It is a right guaranteed in the Constitution

He is the textbook definition of a flight risk.
