Madison School Board Member Takes Back Teacher Gift Card Idea
By Jay Sorgi

MADISON - A member of the Madison School Board who hoped to set up teachers there with a $200 gift card has changed his mind.

Hughes wanted to use money saved because of teacher absences during the February battle over the state budget to give the gift cards.

He told WTMJ partner station WIBA Radio in Madison that his proposal created a "hornet's nest of resentment."

Yes.

Openly advocating the rwearding of bad behavior quite often does stir up a “hornet’s nest of resentment” among those sensible individuals who are opposed to rewarding bad behavior.

The fellow moonbats on the board don't really seem to have a problem with the proposal, except that it may cause a backlash.

The best they can complain about reality is that it is "goofy" to waste money then raise taxes?

Absolutely brilliant, intelligent, smart, and really really bright people have to be given a genius bonus for their existence on the face of this earth.

What would public school systems do without the absolute genius of Progressive teachers?

Teachers vote in school board elections. Most of the rest of us don’t.

Apparently they money to burn. Every time we turn around the teachers and unions are asking for more money for the chillin. Now a $200 gift card to actually reward absences to protest?!

Well, they had to pay for their transpotation to get downtown? It is only fair! In fact $200 is too little. Should be $2,000 for expenses and another $2,000 for the time protesting, tax-free of course! /s

But it gets better. For the idjits who don't read the article:

Board member Ed Hughes tells the Wisconsin State Journal (http://bit.ly/lrV6Kk) that giving the more than 4,000 employees a $200 Dane Buy Local gift card plus $60 to cover the related income taxes would be similar to a profit-sharing bonus. It would cost $1.05 million.

And old Ed Hughes doesn't stop with just one brainiac idea. He has yet another one:

Hughes is also proposing increasing the district's proposed property tax levy for next year by about $2 million to pay for maintenance and technology projects and any costs associated with the district's implementation of a state-imposed talented-and-gifted education plan.

All I have to say is that Ed Hughes must be on a respirator because it's obvious that he's too stupid to breathe.

How about using the money to pay for the damages the teachers did to the capital building?
