The Obamacare Diaries Continue: Latest ‘Waiver’ Scam Goes to the AARP
American Medical Society ^ | May 20, 2011

.., the problem of the ‘Obamacare Waivers’ continues with the latest Obama-Pelosi-Reid game of favoritism going to the AARP. Everyone knows that if we allocated just part of the trillion(s) given to the PPACA legislation to pay for uninsured care, combined this with an honest ‘buy-in’ of physicians who could contribute charity care in exchange for tax credits (for instance) to oversee reasonable outcomes-based changes to how medical and surgical care is delivered and payed for, and threw in open interstate competition for insurance companies, that we’d be most of the way ‘there’ toward meaningful reform.

Add to these basic tenets a serious re-engineering of tort law so that trial lawyers–who contribute nothing to the care of patients–would actually be restrained from running the whole medical system scared and broke, and we’d have a valuable foundation to medical delivery reform in America. A reform that protected the sacred patient-physician relationship, did not thrust Uncle Sam further into the exam room and our pocketbooks, and preserved the safe scope-of-practice boundaries between physicians, nurses, and other healthcare ‘providers’.

All Americans want their neighbors to have health insurance, and we all want our medical care to be grade-A American, not European, quality; whatever the Supreme Court, Congress, and State legislatures decide in the next two years, we should start working now on sensible reforms headed by doctors and nurses, not politicians. We should scrap the 2,700 pages of politics and legal-speak, discard the books and political rhetoric of profiteers, and get on with the business of helping our fellow Americans live healthy, successful lives.

From the Daily Caller: The Daily Caller has learned that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) rate review rules, which it finalized on Thursday, exempt “Medigap” policy providers, like the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), from oversight when such providers increase payment rates for their supplemental insurance plans.

Insurance providers who aren’t exempt from Obamacare’s rate review rules are required to publicly release and explain some health care payment rate increases.

The AARP is the nation’s biggest seller of Medigap policies, or supplemental healthcare plans that add onto what Medicare won’t cover for seniors. The senior citizens interest group advocated for Obamacare to include an attack on Medigap policies’ biggest competitor, Medicare Advantage.

Though the White House and HHS dismiss allegations of political favoritism when it comes to who’s getting exceptions from the new health care regulations – such as in the recent uproar over the disproportionate number of Obamacare waivers that went to companies in House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s district — Obamacare critics say the mere appearance of the administration helping friends is disturbing.

No irony here. None at all. The AARP sold out its constituents to endorse Obamacare. Now it gets a waiver.

The cancer keeps spreading throughout this administration. I see no hope for the future. They have such a powerful grip on us, we’re lucky we can still breathe.

Freepers are aware of all the insanity. However our vaunted GOP is flat out failing to educate the voting masses about it.

I hate the people that forced this on us. THis pos legislation should be overturned on this basis alone. Talk bout a conflict of interest.

Here's some little-known, but long-standing, information on the government controlled healthcare system:

Think of this system not as a vehicle for delivering healthcare but as a system for making money.

Politicians creaming off the top -- 30% typically, and that's only the tip of the iceberg.

Obamacare continues the scheme of taking money from those who pay for insurance and funneling it to lawmakers and their families. Lots and lots of money funneling will flow to politicians and their buddies (those lucky enough to have politically protected CAT/MRI scanning centers and labs doing blood work) through inflated reimbursements.

Everyday is Christmas for these politicians.

The foreign occupier and his horde are a menace to our nation and damn near everyone living here.

Listen to the following 6 short informative audio files on why politicians will never reform healthcare. Info you probably never knew anything about.

Look up 'Certificate of Need' (CON) on Google, or as I call it: A 'Certificate of Monopoly.'

Not only did it sell out its constituents, AARP lied by repeatedly saying that it wasn’t “endorsing” Obamacare, all the while running commercials, etc. for it.

Under 'Topics' you should have checked Corruption four times. Same with key words 'Corruption, Corruption, Corruption, Corruption' I was gonna say that it is the most corrupt administration since the Teapot Dome scandal but this administration is much worse that even that. The Teapot Dome scandal only involved oil leases. This administration is stealing from everyone! We're getting the change that the voters voted for in 2006 and 2008.

What analysis I was expecting to see but haven’t is the comparison to mafia protection money.
The mafia comes in to an area and everyone is subject to a beat down.
However if you give protection money, you get a waiver for the smack down.
This is exactly like that.
