Democratic U.S. lawmakers have asked Congressional panels to look into whether Koch, an energy company led by brothers who are powerhouses in conservative politics, will benefit if the Obama administration approves a $7 billion pipeline to bring crude from Canada into the United States.

U.S. Representatives Henry Waxman and Bobby Rush wrote a letter on Friday to Republicans chairing the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and one of its subcommittees, asking them to request documents from Koch Industries regarding the extent to which the company would benefit if the Keystone XL oil sands line would be built.

Privately held Koch is co-owned by David Koch, the founder of Americans for Prosperity -- a group aligned with the conservative Tea Party movement -- and his brother Charles. The Koch family has also funded conservative causes in energy including giving $1 million to back a proposition in California last year that would have put on hold a state law to set limits on greenhouse gas emissions.

I’ll bet they didn’t ask for an investigation into Paul Pelosi’s company’s government contracts, and whether there was any potential for conflict of interest on Nutsy Pelosi’s part.

Nah, the Phantom has lots more hair.

True, but twins often go bald at different rates. They're brothers. No doubt about it.

That's how to handle this. Say, "sure, we'll investigate Koch, if we also broaden the scope of the investigation to include George Soros, Peter Lewis, and Ellen Malcolm. And while we're at it, let's take a look at the Tides Foundation, the Ruckus Society, and PeTA. And, oh yeah, let's take a real close look at all those donors of unverified identity who contributed via credit card to Obama's 2008 presidential campaign."

Lemme see if I understand. If conservative entrepreneurs stand to gain finacially from more oil being transported into the United States, then construction of the pipeline may not be approved?

I must be missing something.

I think it's time Dems look into GE and how much they are making from “Green Energy”.
