“He wrote an excellent article on his foreign policy critics called “I’m nit going to shoot from the lip.”. There is no way a candidate can come up with an honest strategy without being privy to classified information. He a general strategy and it is sound and conservative. He also wants to consult with people closest to the problems in each situation and understand what is the goal here, is it winnable, etc. Maybe that is a non-answer to you but it sure resonated with a ton of people...he has had very positive response to his problem solving approach, even in foreign policy.”

Oh, come on. Classified info is necessary to make a statement on foreign policy generalities now? Somehow Cain’s able to make an easy call like shooting Osama Bin Laden “without taking 16 hours to make the decision” and without that darn classified info. Interesting how one can be selective about Cain’s indecision when it comes to clearly setting foreign policy (when of course, it might be unpopular to some) and then obviously support him where he does make a popular foreign policy decision—without his having access to that oh-so-necessary classified info.

Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate anyone taking the time to see where I’m coming from, even if I don’t always agree with them on FR.

I’d rather he made Boortz the head of Homeland Security, frankly. 8^)

Evidently my home page screams out somehow that I like Rove and Krauthammer? Not. Both I find atrociously overrepresented on the airwaves, and disagree with them often, although I find Krauthammer far more tolerable than Rove. But gosh, CVV, you tell me. Who do I support? (answer in white below)

Nobody--yet.

“your bus ride is your “car stamps” in most situations they are tax payer subsidized. enjoy your ride.”

You assume that I could ride the bus to work or to the store. Can’t happen in Fredonia, my friend. We don’t have that option here. Granted, taxpayers subsidize roads and cars a-plenty.

But if you think subsidies for everyone’s use (on roads and the like) are quite the same evil as redistribution for certain folks’ use, I would invite you to choose between government handling your money in accord with your needs and you handling money in accord with your needs. Why isn’t the former fair if government taking others’ money for food stamps are fair? Surely the same government that determines others’ need is greater and takes a little in taxes can do more good more quickly if it simply takes all of everyone’s money and distributes it fairly?

“I don’t know why he supported a democrat once, if he did. I voted for a Democrat once in a local race because they were actually more conservative than the Republican, so I’m not going to worry about it too much.”

That a Rat is more conservative than the GOP standard bearer even in a local race is extremely rare these days, and was rare even then when Herman Cain ENDORSED one. That’s going farther than most folks are willing to leap, and this is your pick for the GOP’s Presidential Primary? It’s not like picking a conservative or moderate in some local primary ala Palin—not that I was for her endorsing McCain there, either—it’s a self-styled conservative Republican picking a Rat over an incumbent Republican! I can understand not wanting to hold your nose for a Lindsey Grahamnesty or Richard Lugar and instead voting for an independent or even going third party. But actually going so far as to ENDORSE a RAT?!?!

Some of us don’t make that much money, and find that those on food stamps live better than we do.

There is a significant number of these people. Food stamps are a winning issue with these people.

i am against both... you just wanted car stamps... i just pointed out that the government already gives out car stamps.

as for fredonia... not familiar with it.

but we are definitely heading for the gov’t takes all scenario... in fact we are already there with the gov’t taking all and then some... debt.
