Exactly right. If the killing of Osama were a genuine patriotic/military action devoid of politics, the SEALS would have done their job under EXTREME secrecy. Nobody on the other side would even know about it.

Usually when you warn someone to “watch their back” it comes across as protectionism, or hope they will be OK. This is a huge Freudian slip, IMHO.
