Uh, by what authority is such a demand made? That would require a magisterium, wouldn’t it? Anyone ever heard of a “Baptist magisterium”?

Uh, by what authority is such a demand made? Very good point. There are legions of Lone Rangers out there with their Bibles and their credos. In that world, one man's opinion as good as any other. It is what it is. (Doncha just LOVE that expression?)

It wasn’t a demand, it was a recommendation based upon biblical principles.
The Baptist “magesterium” is the local church, which wouldn’t apply to the relationship in this instance.
