US president will use visit to London to keep pressure on Israel for Middle East peace deal
Barack Obama will seek a joint Middle East agreement with David Cameron, insisting that a Palestinian state should be based on pre-1967 borders a proposal rejected by Israel's prime minister as "unrealistic" and "indefensible".
The issue will be raised in private talks between the two men during the state visit by Obama and his wife to London, only the third by a US president in 100 years. Afghanistan, Libya, relations with Pakistan and the global economy as well as the vacancy for the top job at the IMF will also make up the agenda.
Despite the outright rejection by the Israeli premier, Binyamin Netanyahu, of a Palestinian state based on the borders that existed before the Six Day War, when Israel captured and occupied the West Bank and Gaza, Obama has already secured the political backing of the United Nations, European Union and Russia who, with America, are collectively known as the "quartet".
Signalling his determination to keep up pressure on Israel, Obama will be looking to enlist the public support of the UK prime minister. The aim is, in large part, to persuade the Palestinian leadership not to go to the UN in September seeking symbolic backing for an independent state.
The coming meeting between the two men follows evidence of a hardening of criticism of Israel by London. On the eve of the Obamas' arrival, Middle East minister Alistair Burt accused Israel of "unhelpful and destabilising activity" in announcing the building of 1,500 new settlement units in East Jerusalem ahead of a speech by the president on the Middle East on Friday.

Obama HATES the UK (from Churchill’s bust forward, and before).
History will record that it is ONLY the UK antisemitism
that drives the Kenyan impostor to return.
I don’t think Cameron will even entertain Obama behind closed doors....I think the trust is totally gone.
(The aim is, in large part, to persuade the Palestinian leadership not to go to the UN in September seeking symbolic backing for an independent state.)
How many people are falling for this fig leaf? Hey Palestinians, we’ll force Israel to give you everything you ever wanted; all you have to do in return is to not go to the UN for a symbolic proclamatin. Oh, by the way, you can still go to the UN at any time anyway...
Israel just doesn’t know how good an advocate Obama is for them. They just don’t know what’s good for them, so just like the healthcare “reform” that he forced down the throat of the American people despite a majority opposing it, he’s taking that same strategy to international relations.
I read in an interview that Ed Koch, the ex-mayor of New York and a big Israel supporter, didn’t like Obama’s speach and was thinking for a while to back a Republican for President, until the House came out with their plan to tinker with Medicare. Now he’s back into the Obama fold. If he’s typical of the Jewish vote, Obama doesn’t have much to worry about. The Big Government religion apparently trumps all for some.
Now that Obama has wrecked our country and met his planning goals of putting us on a long term downward trajectory, he’s moving on to other ‘projects’ like Israel.
someone on Fox (Israel gov’t official) just said:
“Israel is not going to play that game!”
Obama wants to go to the Pali’s and tell them here are the border concessions we’ve conned Israel into making. Will you come to the table now?
And Israel simply is NOT going to play that game!
Sometimes, the first beating doesn’t take. Children must learn by repetition.
All well know supporters of Israel.
I don’t think there was a Palestinian state in 1967.
“How many people are falling for this fig leaf? Hey Palestinians, well force Israel to give you everything you ever wanted; all you have to do in return is to not go to the UN for a symbolic proclamatin.”
—Yep. It has nothing to do with Israel. It has everything to do with King Hussein Obama not wanting to be put in the embarrassing position of having to veto Palestinian recognition.
He wants to irritate Israel and box them into a corner to try to make them “overreact”, much like his minions did with sending out Pelosi with the big gavel and black Democrats before the Obamacare vote- in hopes of provoking those raaaacist “Tea Baggers”. Then he can use that supposed overreaction to justify his next actions (and failing that, just make up something like the Dems did in saying Tea Party members spit on the black leaders and called them racist names).
“I read in an interview that Ed Koch, the ex-mayor of New York and a big Israel supporter, didnt like Obamas speach and was thinking for a while to back a Republican for President, until the House came out with their plan to tinker with Medicare. Now hes back into the Obama fold.”
—The Hamas rockets won’t be directed at his abode. So I guess he has his priorities.
No....someone posted here the other day how the name “Palestine” came about....it had to do with Paleontological(sp)? diggings in the area, and an abbreviation....wish they would post it again.
Interpretation ---> Call on Israel to commit suicide just as I, zer0, am doing Cameron.
IF Cameron complies, zer0 throws the UK to the moslems next. IF Cameron is intelligent, he should tell zer0 the Bibi quote, "Not going to happen."
I liked that statement very much.
“Build more settlements.”
Yep. (And plus, then Obama will be the guy who wants to displace innocent civilians from their homes).
I hope Cameron slaps Barry up the side of his jihadi head
I sure do wish Obama would go back to golfing. I need a break!
And if that doesn't work just get them killed and then all of the troubles of the Middle East will vanish with the Jews... Obama's goal is clear and he will use taquiyya to deceive the useful idiots.
I read yesterday that Koch said , after the 0dumbo dumb speech that he ( Koch) would NOT support 0dumbo for reelection.
don’t forget Koch supported Bush against kerry for among other reasons his support of Israel.
