A man suspected of being one of the two assailants in the brutal beating of Giants fan Bryan Stow at Dodger Stadium was taken into custody early this morning, Los Angeles police sources say.
At about 7 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department SWAT team descended on an East Hollywood apartment building with a warrant in hand. According to apartment building manager Maritza Camacho, police, using loudspeakers and with guns drawn, called out to the occupants of Apartment 25. Inside was one of the men police suspect in the March 31 beating that left Stow with brain damage.
As residents of the three-story building stood watching from balconies, police removed, one by one, the people who were inside the apartment, according to Camacho. Among them was a man with a bald head and tattoos on his neck and arms, she said, a description that appeared to match the vague sketches released by police of one of the two suspects. She added that he did not appear to resist being taken into custody.

Uninvited visitors from the south?

Another Democratic voter removed from the voter’s rolls.
Looks like a “hate crime” to me - victim is white, suspects are minority. So far, however, I have not heard anyone mention the possibility of this being a “hate crime”.
Why is it that if this were to happen to a minority by several whites at a sporting event, the press and police would immediately call it a “hate crime” or the police would tell the press that they are investigating the possibility of a “hate crime’?
Will Obama call for a “beer summit”?
(Alleged) perp is one Giovanni Ramirez, age 31. I heard this morning that he is “known” to the police, and feared by many in the neighborhood.
I thought it was a mob of Hispanics who attacked the fan?
Good news, indeed. Doubt it’ll take long for him to reveal his partner in crime.
1. Anyone know immigration status of perp?
2. He took the uniform to the dry cleaners to have blood removed - had he thrown it away he would have gotten away with it.
Apparently the owners of the dry cleaners knew of his gang activity and actually cleaned the shirt before allowing police to take to the crime lab.
Giants fan from San Jose here. Although I wasn’t at the game after which Bryan Stow was senselessly beaten to near-death, I have several friends who made the trek south and were there that day. I have been to Dodger Stadium in Giants gear in the past. This could’ve happened to any of us.
It wasn’t about the classic rivaly between two storied MLB franchises...it was pure, unadulterated thuggery. I’m fully in the “How is THIS not a hate crime?” camp.
A SWAT team is way overkill for this. What the heck is wrong with cops today. This should have been two officers knocking on the door with a warrent. Pathectic.
They shoot dogs all the time, also.
