In a radio interview, a basketball superstar was asked about his knack for making the game-winning shot in crucial situations. The reporter asked how he was able to be so calm in such pressure-packed moments. His answer was that he tried to simplify the situation. You only have to make one shot, the player replied. One shot. That is the essence of simplifying a difficult situation. Focus only on what is in front of you right now. Dont worry about the expectations of your coach or teammates. Simplify.
Recognizing that the challenges of life can be both overwhelming and suffocating, Jesus urged us to take matters in hand by simplifying. He said, Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble (Matt. 6:34). This was His wise conclusion to His teaching on the debilitating power of worry. Worry doesnt accomplish anything positive; it just adds to the sense that we are drowning in the troubles we are facing. We must take things as they comeone day at a timeand trust Him for the wisdom to respond properly.
If you feel overwhelmed by life, do what you can today and then entrust the rest to Him. As Jesus said, Each day has enough trouble of its own (niv).
Read: Matthew 6:25-34
Needless to say, we are 4 hours behind and hurrying to catch up before going home. Tomorrow will be worse.
Sounds like you just about have the moving stuff whipped. Good for you!!
Nighty-night! See ya manana, friend! (((hugs)))
Have you heard the latest on the Rapture?
Well....it’s not every day we get a second...or twenty-second chance! ROFL!!!
(will be re-posting this.....) :D
Thanks for the road trip to Fort Monmouth. We are steadily moving forward with our relocation to Aberdeen Proving Ground and time left for this historic military installation is running short.
I am sad to see it go. Every day I pass the hundreds of stone markers along Avenue of Memories dedicated to Signal Corps soldiers who gave their lives for this great country. Many of them trained or billeted at Fort Monmouth before meeting their fate. In a few months, “their” fort will just be a memory also.
A new date? H2OMG!:)
Yeah, the 'ol endtimespredictor is at it agin..:=(
Beware false prophets....especially those who continue to accept donations during their predicted “end of times”.
Good evening Kathy....sounds like a busy day! *hugs*
Another night of homework?
Hey kids!
Funny story: Our Sunday school teacher said yesterday “Well I see we’re all here!” One of our fellow members said “Well I don’t know about you, but I figured I’d see you all one way or another this morning!”
LOL!!
