Did Obama use the bathroom? Did he buy him a Slurpee or have an ice cream while they filled up?

The presidential limo is not “the beast” ... but rather it is the socialist “thing” riding inside the limo.

Not surprising since European cars are the size of matchbox cars.

He’s an evil bastard. This was intentional and noone should believe otherwise.

On a sidenote: The BP stations around here (podunk MO) have all folded or sold out.

Because the Official Thug Car probably gets about 0.3 MPG, on account of all those tons of armor.

No President in history has ever gotten the kind of security Obama gets. That’s also why he grounded out on the sidewalk in Ireland.

I doubt if they just closed down the gas station while he gassed up. They probably closed down half the city.

He sure has managed to bring us to a new low every single day.

Maybe someone can explain this... Why does it feel so embarassing when this sort of thing happens, seeing the presidential limo being gassed up, or when it get stuck on a speed bump... I know it looks all silly, but it really does hurt from a national pride perspective to see this.

Consider this as well. The presidential limo stopping at a garden variety gas station can pose a real security risk to the President. Whoever is planning these trips needs to do a better job at keeping these details of these trips out of sight of the public.

They also told how the Cadillac - which is fitted with bullet-proof glass and has an armoured body, its own oxygen supply and even samples of the President’s blood - took up a bay and a half while Mr Obama’s driver filled it up with £50 worth of unleaded.

I don't object to the President having this kind of security. We should do everything in our power to keep him safe, even if we do not agree with him. But just seeing these kinds of things happen... it is like watching what happens when people stop caring about the details of a trip. I mean... would the Queen of England have such a problem? I would imagine that if her official vehicle ran out of gas that whoever was in charge of the logistics of such a trip would be out of a job ASAP.

Come on! I’m no Obama fan, but the only way these kinds of snafus (the driveway bump, and the gas) can be put at his feet is if he ignored the advice of the Secret Service.

I’m the first to bash Obama, but only when it’s legitimate. All these security breaches are probably not his fault. Assuming it’s his fault, or his incompetence that caused this security breach only makes those who oppose him look ridiculous.

Of course, I wouldn’t put it past him to create just that kind of culture in his administration that would either lead his handlers to ignore the Secret Service, or would lead the Secret Service to let their guard down.

Actually, it is likely safer to pick a station at random than to choose one in advance and secure it. The same logic applies to grocery shopping for the White House. It's much safer to deploy shoppers to random markets and stores for food rather than to designate a supplier and ensure the shipments' integrity.

A very large exception to this concept is the fueling of Air Force One. As I understand it, we ship fuel overseas and have it under 24 hour guard until it is pumped into the aircraft.
