ObamaCare supporters fervently believe that science will prevail in systems that are controlled by politicians. It is usually the unstated assumption behind their arguments defending the Independent Payment Advisory Board. They seem to believe it so blindly that they can’t see evidence to the contrary even when it is right in front of their noses.

As a guy who works in DoD/IC procurement, I have watched the U.S. Government waste tens of millions of dollars to make systems less capable and/or more vulnerable in order to serve their internal political agendas or meet their own prejudices. They often don't fundamentally understand the technologies they allegedly manage.

An “advisory board”. It is actually easy for them if they lack any sort of true humanity. Almost like a math equation. The cost of treatment vs. the probability that the person survives added to “how many working years are left in the person who can pay taxes”. For example, if a Down’s Syndrome baby needs a heart operation, I am sure there is a calculation based on tax output based on I.Q. Scary, frightening stuff.
