The Texas Senate backed down from what I understand...is this true?

Pretty much. From what I've been able to gather, it appears Dewhurst was probably the one that went weak in the knees. Dan Patrick, the senate sponsor of the bill, said(FWIW) he STILL had the votes to get 'r done. Maybe, maybe not.

I thought Texans were always touting how “tough” they were. It is shocking they backed down from federal threats of what amounted to a blockade. I was hoping Texas would lead the way...I know KY legislature or governor hasn’t the nuts to do this.
