Trend forecaster Gerald Celente gives a preview of his Summer Trends Journal in an interview with King World News.
Celente says riots from Iran to Spain are the beginning of another world war, precipitated by food prices, unemployment and inequality. Last year he claimed that 2011 would bring "Off With Their Heads 2.0" and the prediction is going well so far.

So, how will this develop into a world war, exactly?
Hmmm, that seems oddly familiar somehow.
The situation in Israel is always, a possible motive for the strike as well. Celente is sometimes wrong and comes off as extreme, but he does hit it big from time to time.
In the mean time, “keep your powder dry” and stock up on the things that will stay edible for years to come.
“These young people” sitting in the streets in Madrid are actually demanding more and bigger government and an insane escalation in their already generous welfare benefits. I fail to see that as the stuff of revolution.
The Socialist Party (PSOE) has let them take over downtown, destroying virtually all business activity there, because it was clear that while the Socialists are responsible for the Greece-like situation of Spain, it was also clear that the “protesters” were not opposing them but simply proclaiming that they supported even more government welfare and debt.
And there actually is a difference between the Socialists and the PP (conservatives); while the PP wouldn’t be Tea Party material, and is probably more on the order of RINOs or conservative Dems, it is very conservative by Spanish standards and I think will try to roll back some of the insane hyper-government that Zapatero has promoted since 2004. Also, the PP social positions are much, much better. ZP would have had an abortion factory in his office if he had known how to perform them, and spent most of his time when he wasn’t destroying the economy in promoting gays, attacking the Church, and converting the public schools into propaganda central.
That said, I think these “young people” are going to do everything possible to stop any changes from being made. And how that counts as a “revolution,” I do not know. But then, somebody who thinks that the Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Egypt was a positive thing obviously has other standards.
BS! Where did George Soros find Gerald Celente? Many seems convinced his is so forward thinking that he can predict the future of the world, which is nonsense.
Could we have a global monetary collapse? Yes. Could the drought and floods continue (short term)? Yes. But, food is not the highest it has ever been (at least in the U.S.). Gasoline prices could go up and they could come down, I have seen them move radically in both directions. And unemployment was higher during the Great Depression.
What would happen if we had a worldwide economic collapse? I cannot speak for the world, but where I live we can grow food. There were no grocery stores here when my ancestors moved to Haskell County in the mid 1880's. They survived. We and many of our neighbors have cattle, farm equipment, some oil production and the skills are still there to survive the unspeakable. Do I think that will happen? No.
This is what happened in Germany prior to Hitler taking over. They are prime for the same situation. When a leader comes in and tells them he can fix the problem if they give him absolute power, he will go to war as Hitler did. When people are hungry, they will fight. Why? Because there is nothing left for them to do.
Just damn...I thought it was Atlas Shrugging.

I thought the riots in the streets were suppose to happen here 2 years ago, according to this guy.
it looks like we are witnessing the emergence of a new “Eastern Bloc” that intends to opt-out on Capitalism as we know it. Except this time it looks as if the members will be geographically dispersed all over the planet.
So, Spain is going to attack Morocco, Portugal, France or Italy?
Andorra.. they are pretty sure they can kick their ass. All the others are iffy.
Well maybe not France, they will surrender to anyone.
I have no idea. I’m just saying that they are prime for a dictator that the people will follow if the person makes enough promises. Look at how big Germany is and the havoc they caused during WWII. I just look at the possibilities that could occur with a dictator. Look at how we have evolved since the last election with all the promises that were made. People fell for it didn’t they?
That is honestly something I worry about here. Most people really don't want freedom, they want stability.
I think people want “stability and freedom” and there’s no reason why we can’t have both. The only problem is politicians don’t get it. They are only worried about themselves. The big problem is “What do we do about it”?
Power and wealth easily corrupt the corruptable.
Actually, you can't. True freedom has risks. The risk to succeed can mean that you will fail. The risks of life are often the results of the choices we make, or are able to make. Many people, and in fact most people, would rather have the big choices made for them. They want to be taken care of, with little risk to themselves. The rewards won't be as great, but risks are born for the most part by others. Most younger people fit in that category. And for that matter most retired folk do to. They want to be treated as children, as long as their life is stable. They do not want to bear the burdens and responsibility of freedom.
True freedom means you have to accept that you can, and will, fail. That it is your fault, your own fault, and not something you can blame others for.
