Come on, it doesn't help your point to make circular arguments.

You could make the case that any of the three Republican Governors since the 1870s were more conservative than the other. Obviously Clements and Bush didn't try anything on the scale of the TTC, didn't try anything as liberal as trying to slip the HPV vaccine through without input from parents, and didn't campaign for a pro-abortion candidate while serving as Governor, and that puts them way ahead of Perry.

I think you're just trying to turn the debate away from Perry with that discussion and by attacking those of us who don't like Perry by labeling us as Ron Paul fans.

Ok, I'll ask where you are going with “Governor went out and hit the election trail for a pro-abortion candidate in a recent Presidential election like Perry did”?

Where am I going with it?

You can't call yourself a Conservative or a pro-lifer if you actively campaign for a pro-abortion Presidential candidate like Perry did.

My arguement has never been to promote Rick Perry for President. I am looking for one that can A. kick nobama off our stage and B. return America to a better path.

Perry did two things not many liked, it seemed he pulled back on them when he heard from us. He could have been like 90% of our previous governors and flipped us the bird like nobama. On the whole he has proven, to me at least, to be about the most conservative Governor in my lifetime or in Texas History.

Anyone who thinks we’ll ever find Mr. or Ms. Perfect as a politician with the aspirations and ability to be a serious contender, has a long and frustrating wait coming.

Whenever “kick the contender” begins here on FR, its not unusual for the RP faction to eventually be ID’d. If you are not with that fringe go nowhere herd, try not sounding like em.

No actually I was serious, it was sounding more like I was caught in a clarabell discussion.

Hope we can end on a agreement to support whomever gets the GOP nod. Otherwise we are doomed as doomed can be.

Perry did two things not many liked

Since I and others have listed more than two things that Perry did that many Conservatives did not like, could you tell us the only two things he did that you have a problem with?

On the whole he has proven, to me at least, to be about the most conservative Governor in my lifetime or in Texas History.

That's like saying that drowning in 15 feet of water is somehow better than drowning in 20 feet of water. All three Republican Governors that we've had in our lifetime have shown some incredibly moderate tendencies, especially when it comes to Mexico, and all three have done some pretty awful things as Governor. Perry is the worst to me because of HPV, TTC, the DNA stuff, campaigning for a pro-abortion candidate and so on, but any of them are bad and a truly conservative Governor would not have done those things or allowed them to happen.

Anyone who thinks we’ll ever find Mr. or Ms. Perfect as a politician with the aspirations and ability to be a serious contender, has a long and frustrating wait coming.

We'll never have a perfect candidate, but I want somebody who is clearly pro-life and who is consistent. Perry has not displayed either of those traits. He tries to be all things to all people and he will toss aside his beliefs when it comes to helping his friends out.

Whenever “kick the contender” begins here on FR, its not unusual for the RP faction to eventually be ID’d. If you are not with that fringe go nowhere herd, try not sounding like em.

You aren't going to scare us into supporting Perry or scare us into being quiet about Perry's record by trying to label Perry critics as Ron Paul fans. I and the majority of Perry critics are not Ron Paul fans and the fact that you are trying to turn the discussion to us instead of Perry's actual record speaks volumes about the strength of your argument.
