Lavish aid to Africa is turning the continent into a ‘spoilt child’, according to the head of a charity backed by Nelson Mandela.

Mike Kendrick, founder of the respected Mineseeker Foundation, warned that aid often increased the hardship faced by the world’s poorest people.

In a devastating verdict, he told the Daily Mail last night: ‘I sometimes use the analogy of a spoilt child. We have all seen rich parents give their child everything they need, without earning it.

I remember when John Stossel interviewed two brave youn African journalists, one male, one female. Concerning the food aid, the young lady asked incredulously (paraphrased as best I remember), "Why are you doing this to us? You are ruining our farmers and making the dictators stronger!"

Heck, it's probably protection money, since we're now vying with both the Chinese and Al Qaeda on that continent. The world is a freakin' mess.

This is the basic reason most leadership in Africa steals the money. So they can keep the citizenry from being “Spoilt.”

Or he could be speaking of about 48% of Americans.

If he were a white guy saying this concerning ‘Africans’ in the US, he would be called a racist.

That is coming to a screeching halt with the food production shortages hitting Asia, Russia and America. We feed Africa but with the weather, the purposeful flooding of farmland and our use of subsidized corn dedicated to fuel, those days of “spoiled Africa” are on the skids.

Foreign aid: The taking of money from poor people in rich countries and giving it to rich people in poor countries.

Thanks Niuhuru. Africa’s people are not the spoiled ones, the corrupt despots who run everything are.

from ‘Dark Star Safari’ by Paul Theroux:

You know you are in Malawi when...

the first seven shops you pass are coffin-makers;
an old man on the road is wearing a fur-trimmed woman’s pink housecoat from the 1950’s;
the rear rack on a bike is stacked with ten uncured cow-hides;
a road-block is a bamboo pole across two barrels and the official manning it is wearing a T-shirt lettered ‘Winnipeg Blue Bombers’;
two policemen stop your minibus for no reason and at gunpoint force the fourteen passengers to pile out in the dark (and they looked at my passport for quite a long time);
the lovely smoothed tarred road abruptly becomes a rutted muddy track that is barely passable;
people start sentences with. ‘But we are suffering, sir’;
people say, apropos of nothing, ‘The day the old woman disappears is when the hyena shits gray hair’;
on the day the Minister of Finance announces his National Austerity Plan, it is revealed that thirty-eight Mercedes-Benzes have just been ordered from Germany....
