As much as I’d LOVE a DeMint Presidential candidacy, I don’t want a reluctant candidate that has to be talked into it. They can just as easily be talked out of it.

“Many on the right have been reported by the msm as expressing major reservations about the GOP candidates in the race, wether the voters actually have these reservations or not, this is the theme that we are going to report.”

Do it Jim!

Your country needs you desperately!

This truly is the candidate that can beat the DemocRAT machine. If only there were many more like this man in Congress the nation wouldn’t be a train wreck.

Amen. I said for some time I don’t think we’ve yet seen THE 2012 presidential candidate for the GOP in the field yet.

I think I can safely say that I speak for a good number of Freepers when I say that we have overwhelming proof that US Senators make the absolute worst Presidential candidates, and that I will not support another Senator for President no matter which Party he runs with.

I pray every night DeMint will change his mind and run. He would be a marvelous choice. I think he could beat Barry Soetoro running away.

I thought he took himself out a long time ago. I like him but you can’t say I’m out of the race...then I’m in the race.

Wow. We may have quite a field to choose from. Real conservatives: DeMint, Bachmann, Cain, Palin. More to come?

So much for the GOP being ‘scared’ of Obama. Frankly, clearing the field of Huck and Daniels may prove to be a boon as almost everyone we would want to get in the race is seeing the opportunity is there to get in with a clear path to victory.

NO! He’s needed in the senate and to help get true conservatives elected to the senate in 2012 through his fund. We’ve already got a problem with that asshat grahamnesty. Mr. DeMint is our counterbalance and possibly a stabilizing force on grahamnesty.

DeMint is a movement leader though. I generally agree about Senators as candidates, but the truly principled leaders could be good. I would say the same potentially about Rubio in about 8 years if he continues to prove his leadership on conservative issues.

Not good, he's a Palin supporter...

The only way he is running, is if he feels there is no true conservative running that he can support.

And he can support Palin, i.e. He thinks she isn't running, or she probably won't run.

I also believe he talks to her and considers her a friend, so this does not bode well, if he says he is thinking of running, because it means she isn't.

I would support DeMint if he were the candidate. I’ve supported him since he first ran for the Senate. But...I’d much, much, much rather have him stay in the Senate where he can do more good riding herd on McConnell and the other RINOs. I’d prefer Palin or Cain as Pres with DeMint in the Senate. That would be an effecive team.
