Who are you hoping is nominated?
Not sure yet, but I’ll know him when I see him...
I’m more interested in cleaning house in the Senate, and getting some fresh blood in there, as opposed to promoting one of the usual suspects.
I’m a lot more interested in sitting governors who are actually accomplishing something at home.
He’ll just do an end run with executive orders.
He’s not party to this GOP-E *Anybody But Sarah Palin* crap that’s trying to grab everyone from Christie to Perry this week because of her tour.
I think Senator DeMint really wants to be Majority Leader, but if he decides to run, he will only make the competition better.
I expect better from a fellow South Carolinian. Whatever happened to civil discourse?
I see one problem with a DeMint run. Right now the SC primary will be crucial in picking the nominee. If DeMint runs, it becomes meaningless..everyone else will skip it..
Which governors are running?
Look, my point is easy...the US Senate represents noone except the two political parties. At one time the Senate actually represented the interests of the States, but the 17th Amendment took care of that.
I think we need Senators in the Senate doing the Senate’s business, instead of out raising money to make runs at the Presidency. If I had my way, I’d put up a Constitutional Amendment banning Senators from running for the Presidency until such time as they are dealt back into the game of representing the States and the People, instead of just the Democrats and Republicans.
I have nothing against DeMint personally. I’m sure he’s one hell of a great guy, but there is much work to be done in the Senate, and I would rather see Senior Senators working to fix those problems.
Failure to support a good man and candidate only because he is a Senator seems painfully ignorant and irrational to me.
And you are certainly entitled to your opinions, and I to mine.
Cheers!
I fear 4 or more candidates splitting the 60% conservative vote while 1 or 2 get the 40% establishment vote.
Didn't this happen before........
That’s true, but he did a great job last election getting conservatives elected to the senate.

Ok genius, point out where I made a comment that DeMint’s seat was in danger of being lost. Waiting. I’m waiting. In addition to being stupid, you have a reading comprehension problem.
Could be. But congress could always unfund anything he orders.
As far as civil discourse goes, the other fellow is frequently insulting to others on this board and I’m sick of his smart mouth.
I don’t see it breaking that way.....percentage wise, the objective will win out over splits....THROW THE BOWING ONE OUT OF OFFICE....and cleanse the FBI,CIA, and other federal
agencies of the liberal scum......period
As vice-president, DeMint would be president of the Senate.
Add Allen West to the list and we will, indeed, have an embarassment of riches from which to choose. The debates would be epic, giving a lot of Americans their first real look at conservatism 101. If DeMint is serious about this, I'll be one happy camper. Run, Jim, run!
Heh.
Absolutely, he has proven that. And he'll appoint Supreme Court justices who are even bigger whack jobs than Sotamayor. We could have majorities in the House and Senate, and still not have a bullet-proof wall between Obozo and our country's future. He must be stopped.
