Not for the millions of unemployed

Meh, large numbers of those people are on government assistance and most of them aren't going to vote Republican anyway. The chronically unemployed, those on disability, etc, are mostly a permanent Democrat voting block - they are not going to vote for a candidate or a party that even discusses the idea of scaling back their freebies. Obama's mostly already got these people's vote.

Yes, there’s about a 44 percent floor which Obama can’t fall under. Many Americans will support Obama to avoid admitting they were conned.

You're giving Obama way too much credit by claiming that the economy is not all that bad and that those unemployment numbers are merely government assistance people and would not work if they could.

That is NOT the case.

However, there will come a point where desperate republican voters without a job and facing the shelters and losing their children due to lack of resources to support them WILL indeed vote for the party that promises to hand out the cash.

This is probably the ultimate goal of Obama and his party. Long-term it has always been the ultimate goal.

There is NO excuse for this economy.
