Still Rogue, Palin Embraces Media (17 interviews in 4 days)
CNN ^ | Saturday, June 4, 2011 | Peter Hamby

SNIP

Reporters were kept in the dark about Palin's whereabouts during her "One Nation" bus tour and were forced to depend on sources or tips from park rangers to figure out which historical site the former Alaska governor might appear at next.

Her strategy is unlikely to change as the patriotism-themed tour makes its way through the Midwest, West and South later this month.

But once reporters tracked her down, Palin was eager to engage. At stop after stop after stop, she answered questions on everything from energy subsidies to the debt ceiling to her favorite brand of designer jeans.

SNIP

Putting aside her chaotic appearance at the Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally on Sunday, an event that generated little news other than pictures of a black-clad Palin riding on the back of a Harley, she took questions from the media 17 different times over the course of four days.

That's a remarkable number for any national political figure, particularly for one locked into an exclusive television contract that normally precludes her from talking to other media outlets. Some of the week's interactions were clearly more productive than others.

Her visits to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia generated a crush of media so large that her daughter Piper was body-blocking reporters and swatting microphones out of her mother's face. No one had a chance to ask a serious question.

And she botched details of Paul Revere's midnight ride while speaking to the press at a stop along Boston's Freedom Trail.

But Palin seemed at ease at most events, lingering outside her bus or SUV to answer every possible question despite Piper's best efforts to drag her away and helpless shouts of "Last question!" from her aides.

Yep!! Anything great that she does is ignored while they nitpick and focus on something irrelevant to the overall scheme of things...that’s why she should ignore what experts tells her what she ‘needs’ to do, just go out there and do it.

LOL You beat me to it. It’s amazing to me how many don’t make sure they know what they are talking about when they jump with glee to try to slam Palin.

I concur! One of her best interviews. She’s comfortable talking with Hannity because he doesn’t interrupt. Greta doesn’t either.

Be sure to watch her tomorrow on Fox News Sunday, with Chris Wallace who’s prone to interrupt.

just go out there and do it.

Just like a running offense in football, just keep pounding away, you'll eventually score.

Hope she takes a double dose of her aggressive pills for this one.
Don't trust that little snake Wallace anymore than BOR when push comes to shove.

I mean, her best attributes is retail politics and being plain-spoken and being real about it...... that’s something many political stiffs wish they had, so why change? There is no reason to do so

These slugs chase her all over the east coast, despertely spending millions to track her and shout mainly stupid questions at her, and when she answers them they accuse her of pandering to the media — and if she didn’t answer them she’d be trying censor them or freeze them out or “running away” from them.

Is it any wonder the lamestream media now rates at the very bottom of the “admired” list of industries and occupations — even below lawyers??

Um, no, Palin got it right.

“A townsman remembered that ‘repeated gunshots, the beating of drums and the ringing of bells filled the air.’.... Along the North Shore of Massachusetts, church bells began to toll and the heavy beat of drums could be heard for many miles in the night air.”

~From “Paul Revere’s Ride,” by David Hackett Fischer (Oxford University Press 1994)

I’ll tell you what is a bit strange. I have known a few bona fide geniuses in my day, and often they have so well comprehended a subject that they bypass popular misunderstandings like they’re not even there, and in the process can sound out of touch, but only to those who have not achieved the same level of understanding. I’m wondering now whether Palin is letting slip the reason why she’s been so quick and correct about so many issues that seem to have eluded the professional political class, why her campaign is so effective as a form of asymmetrical warfare, and why some of her “deeper system” opponents are trying so hard to take her out of the picture. Genius at work? Just maybe?

being plain-spoken and being real about it

That's the part the MSM and Rino elites can't fathom and the part we appreciate.
It's her edge.

....and we found out that she didn’t botch Paul Revere details but was accurate as well.

It's in the journ-o-list echo chamber now, and will be repeated ad nauseam in spite of what the truth actually is.

Great Post!

Her dad is a genius and Sarah soaked up all his wise teaching as she grew up. In some ways it's too bad she is so beautiful, because it tends to hide her "genius". Frankly I am in awe of this woman.

Media getting nothing, they complain.
Media getting interviews, the complain.

Better to just ignore them. They are trying to open a rift between her and Fox.

I hope she talks at the same pace and with the same measured voice she invoked with Hannity.

Wallace likes to interrupt, and she often talks faster with Wallace because of that.

It’ll be rather early in AZ unless the interview is pre-taped. I am looking forward to Governor Palin lighting-up Wallace’s studio in much the same way she lit up Hannity’s last night!

GO SARAH! MAKE MORE NEWS!!!!
