That’s a good argument. Thanks. I’ll read more, when time allows. ...doing much outdoor manual labor for a while.

... because they want to strip support away from Gov. Palin so Milt is the Republican nominee. No only can Mitt NOT beat Obie he kills the GOP down the ballot. People will simply stay home.

This is in part why Nancy P is convinced they can retake the house. The Dems will work as hard as they can to see that Romney is the GOP candidate.

Wait, are you saying that I haven’t? ;’) Around here it’s easy to be called names or for that matter attacked for stuff one doesn’t say. A while back I had some loony letter b go off on me about (of all things, around here) my alleged hostility toward Ahnold. I hadn’t said anything about him, just posted a couple of links. Mostly though it’s Night of the Living Brain-dead accusing me of atheism, or being a RINO, or being a NeoCon, or being a socialist, or being a Republican (okay, that hasn’t literally happened yet), or being an intolerant jerk. People who call me an intolerant jerk should be strung up with piano wire without trial. See, that’s me being ironic again. :’)

Could be they just don't know how to approach covering Cain without looking foolish, racist and or hypocritical.

But after reading some of the post here I would say it was reverse psychology to whip Paulist, closet racist and ‘Gold Bugs’ into a frenzy. And guess what it worked!

Also, BTW, IMHO, Fed policy won’t matter much from this point on. The spending cuts needed to try paying the debt aren’t going to be done. Choice of a candidate pretty much comes down to which spending cuts each of us would like to see, and most of us don’t want spending cuts against public education, HUD, social work and other monies to local governments, etc.

Thanks!

I too spend most of the day outside under the bright hot New Mexico sun so I am not think as clear as I like.

Of course I meant that the Fed was not somewhere someone stays a short time once you are in you are in and you stay as long as you play for the team.

Thanks for hearing me out! ;-)

Calling people names now, eh? Playing the Race Card, even? Aren't those tactics from the exact same playbook that the Liberals and their Media puppets use?

Interesting.

They want to strip away support for someone that’s not running? Yeah that makes sense.

Herman or any true conservative who doesn’t want Mitt to win and therefore ‘Bammy’ can not just sit around waiting for Sarah to decide if she is going to run or not. They have to be pounding the bricks NOW and every day every minute if they are going to get somewhere. In fact anyone thinking of running that is holding back because they are waiting to see what Sarah is going to do gets zero respect from me. If you are going to play you come and play and play hard an wait on no one.

IMHO, because they think he has no chance to win the nomination. And then, if he does not win the nominiation, they can motivate center and left voters by telling them that "Repubs are racist, that's why they didn't select Herman Cain".

I agree, though it's more like they do not want to publicize the idea of the Repub's having a black candidate at all. Also, they don't publish much about blacks who have become successful on their own if the person in question is not a liberal. Those whose lives defy the propaganda line of the NYT, etc., will never make the pages of mainstream newspapers any more than the absolute bare necessity or if they can be demonized in the story.

We need more than the same two political parties (one and a half in practice, really.) The world changes and with it the ideas about governing. The Euros and others know it, to us it’s always Coke and Pepsi, Ford vs Chevy. Black versus white. Pity.

The American one and a half political party has outlived its use way past its expiration dates. It stinks!

How do you de-register from voting?

I like your thinking. If Cain wins the nomination, they get a guy who played ball with the Federal Reserve and will continue to if he gets into the W.H.... If Cain loses the nomination, "the Repubs are just a bunch of racists like we've been telling you." You're right. Good clear thinking.

Cain served on a Federal Reserve (Board?) in some capacity. I want to know more about this, because the Fed Reserve is an evil entity that is part of the horror show now going on. Under Paulson, I believe.

IMHO as far as I can see a President has 3 choices:

1) Abolish the Fed by Executive Order
or
2) Try to get Congress to pass a law abolishing the Fed
or
3) Try to influence Fed policy

Choices 1 and 2 seem highly unlikely to say the least, given the international stir from other Central banks and governments that would ensue, our check clearing systems, etc., all require interaction which is all controlled by the Fed, etc. Some other entity would have to take over a lot of it’s operations and it would take considerable time to transition, even if that meant just making significant changes to the Fed itself. It just can’t get shut down or change that quickly and I would think in the years that it would take to shut it down or change it the political will would probably wane.

All I see any candidate doing once elected President is try to influence Fed policy to be more like what their administration desires. Which is what the Executive branch has to do.

I don’t know, IMHO, I don’t see any other way. I never worked inside the Fed, so I don’t know what changes could or could not be made and how it operates in enough detail to estimate how long changes would take or if they’re practically feasible. I have written software interfaces handling banking transactions, so I have a general handle on the mechanics of the banking system and the fact that there are a lot of systems dependent on the banking system.
