The Boston Red Sox will produce an online video for the It Gets Better Project, an anti-bullying project aimed at helping gay youth.
The announcement that the team would be the third major league baseball team to participate in the campaign came today in response to a petition started by a 12-year-old New Hampshire boy that garnered nearly 10,000 signatures in a matter of days.
The Red Sox organization takes the issue of bullying seriously, the team said in a statement yesterday released by spokeswoman Leah Tobin. It is something that has touched many of us and those we love, and it is a growing problem in our community. We are proud of dedicated Red Sox fans like 12-year-old Sam Maden who have taken the courageous step of publicly standing up against bullying of LGBT youth.

It doesn’t get much gayer than red socks.
The kids uncle was homosexual, and died unexpectedly at age 43. So this boy wants to honor the memory of his uncle.
I don’t understand why we have so much focus on bullying of kids who are perceived as homosexual. Bullying in general is bad, and should be dealt with. Kids bully other kids for all sorts of stupid reasons. Why are we singling out perceived LGBT kids, when their sex identity/image, whatever they are calling it these days, isn’t fully formed because these kids aren’t adults yet?
Do we care that nobody knows for sure what causes homosexuality? Do we really have a huge problem with “trans-gendered” youth????
I think if we talk about bullying, it should be to punish bullying of any kind.
This has made me a Yankees fan.
This is anti-christian. Nothing more or less.
I suspect listening to derisive chants of "1918" for the better part of century made them very sensitive.
I hope the Yankees kick their ass this season.
“Do we care that nobody knows for sure what causes homosexuality?”
Until 1973, it was considered a mental disorder.
Their mascot: Pedobear
Just another reason to hate the Sox, and I live in LA, we are supposed to hate everything Boston here, but this is just another reason to hate them
“anti-bullying video for gay youth”
///
i am very glad The Red Sox organization takes the issue of bullying seriously,
and has made a video to ask gay youths to stop bullying:
the Boy Scouts;
parents who don’t want their kids to have gay lifestyles shoved down their throats at school;
people who don’t object to gays getting rights from civil unions, but who simply believe in the historical definition of marriage between one man and one woman;
and Christians who are not permitted to freely quote their religious scripture without being accused of a hate crime.
I’m glad that such a traditional American sport as baseball, fights for traditional American liberties as freedom of speech and freedom of religion!
There’s no worse bullying than an adult forcing or coercing a child into having sex with him, as so many young boys are forced or coerced by older “gay” men.
Those types crave attention. Now they dictate the attention must be positive.
But what this is really about is that the homosexuals hate that kids call each other “fag” when one is making a poor display of himself. And they hate that kids call something thy don’t like as: That is “gay”.
This is about limiting free speech and advancing political correctness with the homosexual agenda. If they can control what you say then they are controlling how you think.
a teacher asked what??????????....LMAO!
Unexpectedly coming out of Masachusetts...they will never deceive God.
Or leave Texas out of it and just rename the Boston team as the Boston Gay Sox.
If Fenway is destroyed by earthquake, that will be due to Ted Williams, a man's man and a great American, spinning in his grave at record speed. Likewise Tom Yawkey.
Yet again, it is good to be a Yankee fan since Mickey Mantle's rookie year of 1951.
