A six-month-old rescue puppy thought dead has given some hope to a family in tornado-ravaged Massachusetts, after he was miraculously found in a flattened home.

The deadly twister struck Monson on Wednesday, killing at least four and leaving more than 200 people injured in the surrounding areas.

Audrey Carabetta and her family feared the worst for her new family member Shadow after he escaped from refuge in their basement, and heard him crying for help.

Ms Carabetta recalled the horrific incident, when the puppy unexpectedly pushed his way out as heavy winds circled their home.

She told CNN: 'You could hear nails being dragged across the floor he was just crying you could hear him hitting the walls as he was being pulled out of the house. It just completely broke my heart.'

Great news for the family that the puppy is ok.

However, they could resist to insert these two lines

Meteorological and environmental experts are trying to offer explanations for the string of tornadoes that have been more frequent and severe than usual.

Many weather experts are blaming global warming.

Yeah and when he tells the cat about his adventures she’ll just hiss at him and whop his nose.

I can blame anyone I want. I blame tree huggers.

Just after the storm, a piece of mail addressed to someone in Monson floated down into someone’s yard about 50 miles EAST of the town.

I can’t even start to imagine how afraid anyone or any animal would be being pulled up into a tornado , while being inside or out side of the tornado up in the dark clouds way up in the air and then travel miles, then being put down and survive to tell the story.

Yes, and continue to pray for Mason, another dog blown up in the air and dropped on two paws that broke. He dragged himself home (to what was left of it) with the two broken paws and his people happened to come back to the ruins that day and found him. They had to leave him at the vet for now because they had no home yet.
