Weiner admits he sent lewd Twitter picture, refuses to resign (Apologizes to Breitbart)

Here's the naked truth about Rep. Anthony Weiner -- he's an Internet perv.

A "deeply ashamed" Weiner openly wept during a news conference this afternoon in Manhattan -- admitting that he made "terrible mistakes" in sending lewd pictures of himself to women he met on Facebook and Twitter over the past few years.

A contrite Weiner vowed not to resign in the wake of the scandal and said he had told his wife only today about his ongoing online sexual trysts. "I don't know what I was thinking," an apologetic Weiner told reporters at the Sheraton Hotel in Midtown. He said 21 times that he accepted responsibility for his actions. Weiner also said he was "not resigning" -- but took "full responsibility for my actions" over the last few years.

Until today, Weiner (D-Brooklyn/Queens) had adamantly denied sending a crotch pic tweet last month. When asked last week whether the crotch seen 'round the world was his, Weiner responded that he could not say with "certitude" it was not. Weiner called the initial that photo a joke and a “hugely regrettable mistake.” Last week's underwear imbroglio erupted after a picture of bulging briefs popped up on the Twitter feed of Seattle college student Gennette Cordova, a follower of the congressman and an admitted fan.

After initially insisting that a hacker broke into his account and sent the photo, Weiner spent most of last week desperately trying to deflate the issue. "I lied because I was ashamed about what I had done," said Weiner....

And Barney Fwank would starve to death?

He should be tar and feathered and run out of town before midnight! What ever happen to the House Ethics Committee? Are there any ethics left in Washington D.C. at all? How can we teach ethics in our schools when a pervert like this is allowed to stay in office? When are we going to take a stand for morality and ethics - and our Constitution?

His Congressional office staff don't last long because he is an obnoxious hothead jerk.

His "Congressional Staff" is what got him in this pickle to begin with.

Gerry Eastman Studds ( /ˈɡɛri/; May 12, 1937 – October 14, 2006) was an American Democratic Congressman from Massachusetts who served from 1973 until 1997. He was the first openly gay national politician in the U.S. In 1983 he was censured by the House of Representatives after he admitted to having had an affair with a 17-year-old page in 1983.

Studds died on October 14, 2006 in Boston, at age 69, several days after suffering a pulmonary embolism.[9]

Article I, section 5. 2/3 vote of the House is all that is needed to expel him. No specific reason is required other than to convince the necessary number to vote “aye.” Only if Weiner interacted with underaged victims can he be prosecuted AFAIK.

CNN was so ticked off they refused to carry the sound and tried to portray it as a "hijacking", which their own correspondent at the event denied.

Weiner called the CNN producer a jackass the other day. They didn't want anything to delay the forthcoming apology.

That is VERY funny! I think it’s more funny if you know the original video from Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake, though.

He should have said I personally apologize to Andrew Breitbart for lying about being hacked and implying that he was behind the hack.

Yes, he should have.

Even worse he said she knew about it before they married. He only had to tell her that he lied about denying it.

As bad as Bill Clinton was, he did not set the bar for Democrat sex scandals. Barney Frank did. Getting a BJ in the Oval Office doesn’t come close to running a homosexual brothel in a congressman’s townhouse.

Surly you jest - but I suspect that you're being serious. Bill Clinton was the President of the United States, the highest political office in America and the person holding that office is arguably the most powerful person on the planet. The Oval Office represents the center of power in America and deserves some respect. Ronald Reagan wouldn't even remove his suit jacket when in the Oval Office out of respect. It is hardly respectful when the sitting president, a horny, middle-aged man, is using it to receive fellatio from a 21-year-old female intern.

Granted, a congressional representative allowing his lover to run a homosexual brothel out of his apartment was outrageously illegal but Barney Frank is one of hundreds of Representatives and has nowhere near the power of the president. Nor is his apartment comparable to the Oval Office on the White House. The comparison is flawed.

Bill Clinton was impeached for perjury, not a sex scandal.

I'm well aware of that fact, as are most Freepers over 30. It was constantly argued by Clinton's defenders that the President engaging in sexual relations with a consenting adult was immoral but not illegal. The perjury charge was based on the fact that Clinton lied about the sex with Lewinsky to a grand jury. It was in all the papers. Are you implying that distinction somehow minimizes the outrageous aspect of his sexual liaison with Monica Lewinsky? I hope not.

Barney Frank was engaged in highly illegal acts but because he was (and is) well-connected in D.C., his lame excuse that he knew nothing about the prostitution ring operating out of his apartment was accepted by both the police and his constituents. Barney Frank was re-elected, again and again. However, he is still just one of 435 Representatives. Hardly comparable to the President of the United States. However, comparing the outrageousness of Democrat's sex scandals is hardly a worthwhile use of our time. This is an opinion forum. I have mine and you have yours, both equally expressed. Apparently, we disagree. So be it.

As I argued at the time, if Clinton was guilty of a crime it was the crime of creating a hostile work environment -- a form of sexual harrassment.

In this case, it was not what Clinton did to Monica Lewinsky (taking advantage of the huge imbalance in power to seduce Lewinsky), it was the harm it did to the rest of the West Wing office staff. Take Betty Currie as the perfect example. As the Secretary to the President, I don't think she ever thought her job description would include retrieving gifts given to mistresses and hiding them from Clinton's wife. Also, what did the other office workers think it took to advance in the Clinton West Wing after seeing the preferential treatment that Lewinsky got after getting chummy with the President?

These are the crimes of creating a hostile work environment, and how it affects the people around the ones being directly harrassed.

.."hope ya wiped your feet, you might have tracked mad cow back here"

Hehehe, yeah I've only been there a few times. What I find amazing is how much liberals thinking using expletives makes their argument better! Every post seemed to use the F word in it.

We all know the obvious answer though. The Daily Kos are brainwashed high school / college morons whose professors are filling their heads with hate America garbage.

Trust me I had a Poly Sci. teacher back when I was in college I think in 2003 how 9/11 wasn't important and was basically using the whole "moral equivalency" argument.

Basically a person living in a hut in a jungle is on the same level as a brain surgeon.

At the end of the day the only answer is... Liberalism is a MENTAL DISORDER!!!

Cool, but I don’t think we disagree very much except in the ranking of “Which is worse?”. Clinton’s and Frank’s behaviors were and still are both despicable. And, I’ve been corrected by another commenter that Gary Studds set the Democrat bar for shamelessness even before Frank.

I expect Barney Fwank to demand Weiner’s resignation. Not for sending nude photos to young women, but because Barney wasn’t sent any.
