"This can feed an army." Before the harvesting began, she said she and daughters,
Malia, 11, and Sasha, 8, already had helped themselves to some sweet potatoes
"This can feed the Obama family, and an army, but poor mothers on the WIC program
and those peons who attend public schools will not be permitted to enjoy the nutritious vegetables such as the "common spud"."
Sweet potatoes and regular potatoes share some nutritional similarities,
yet also share a host of unique features. Both potatoes, are said a very good source of vitamin C, and a good source of
copper, fiber, vitamin B6, and potassium. While potatoes are a good source of
manganese, sweet potatoes are a very good source of this trace mineral and a good source of iron.

THE POTATO: In terms of nutrition, the potato is best known for its carbohydrate content (approximately 26 grams in a medium potato). The predominant form of this carbohydrate is starch. A small but significant portion of this starch is resistant to digestion by enzymes in the stomach and small intestine, and so reaches the large intestine essentially intact. This resistant starch is considered to have similar physiological effects and health benefits as fiber: It provides bulk, offers protection against colon cancer, improves glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity, lowers plasma cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations, increases satiety, and possibly even reduces fat storage.[57][58][59] The amount of resistant starch in potatoes depends much on preparation methods.

Eat more potatoes! The potato actually ranks highest in potassium per serving among the 20 best-selling fruits and vegetables in the United States (ACNielsen).

States that grow the most potatoes effected by the new limited consumption menu in school program advised under Michelle Obama, founder of the Let’s Move campaign.

2010 Petition Of Independent Researchers Urging FDA To Update Fish Advice. Over the past six years a wealth of science has been produced that shows the real risk to pregnant women and unborn children is in not eating enough fish.”There is persuasive new evidence that consumption of more than 12 ounces per week of most marketplace species will actually improve fetal neurodevelopment. This improvement occurs in spite of methyl-mercury in most, if not all fish."

Let the kids go out and play without everyone calling the police on them, apartment managers threatening to evict the family because of them and everyone scaring them into thinking they will be kidnapped.

If Michelle had her way out children would be sent off to work farms growing organic vegitables. Of course, that would kill the capitalist farms who could not compete with the free labor the Communist farms had.

The fad-diet-of-the-season strikes again as the newest tendentious study hits the spotlights.

Not all “starchy” veggies are created equal, and many (even potatoes) carry a goodly amount of fiber compared to traditional bread. If you go to your grocer’s freezer and look for the “diet” dinners such as Weight Watchers, Stouffers Light, etc. you’ll see they don’t shy away from these vegetables.

This reminds me of the saying, "A liberal is a liberal until the first time he gets mugged".

Snowe has been doing the "RINO Suffle" with a glint in her eye for the obamaloid for two years - supporting obamacare and anything else the tag-team of obama-pelosi-reid threw at her.

Now her state - Maine - is the big potato state, and I would imagine she has quite a few constituents really pissed about moochie's potato ban.

It's one of those "changing your horse in mid stream" things for Snowe. Her ego needs the DC elites, but without the peoples' votes...she goes back to taking in ironing, or whatever she did before becoming a RINO.

Welcome to the real world, Snowe...

” . . .limiting total servings of starchy vegetables (potatoes, corn, green peas, and lima beans) to one cup per week . . .”

ONE CUP PER WEEK

No way the obama kids will have to live like this.
