In two separate incidents, as many as 15 teens have stormed Chicago Transit Authority buses, attacked their victims and darted off with cell phones and other electronic devices, authorities said Tuesday.
Both incidents were near the University of Illinois at Chicago campus, prompting city and campus authorities to issue community alerts.
In the first attack, near West Roosevelt Road and South Loomis Street at about 11:40 p.m. Saturday, a victim was struck multiple times before the thieves ran off with his cell phone.
About 25 minutes later, near South Racine Avenue and West 13th Street, a student said he was sitting on a No. 12 bus when as many as 15 black boys and young men boarded the bus without paying. The student was hit in the back of his head with a glass bottle and was robbed of his iPod, said UIC police.

It isn’t just Chicago. If I didn’t know better, I would think this was a planned attack for a racial war before the 2012 election.
Also how does one defend against a gang attack? Does not seem an easy thing to do since you get no/little warning of the impending attack. So far it seems to be a black thing, but if the idea catches on it might become popular with other minorities too. I guess the best defense is to stay out of cities, (always a good idea) be armed and hope you neighbor is armed too.
But....but..........I heard that the reason the beach in Chicago was closed was due to the heat. They were having a heat wave, and closed the beach due to the weather.
So it was really gang mayhem that caused the beach to close? I’m shocked, just shocked, that gangs would ever cause any public disturbance. (sarcasm)
Seriously now, I couldn’t believe they reported a beach closed due to heat. A beach at a cool lake, where people were hoping to cool off had to be closed due to heat strains believability as an official report. It sounds more like not wanting to panic the good decent people that the youth gangs are on the march.

The police force has been demoralized during the Daley years. As long as the wilding was contained in their neighborhoods, no one cared. Now that it is spilling out to the Gold Coast and North Shore, everyone is paying attention.
